the proper wiring has nothing to do with the speed of your scanners or the scan angle.

you should follow this write up because you want your projector wired correctly and have a proper ground to stop having interference in your image you are projecting.

I have that bookmarked.

All the connections I will need for a single colour are along the  bottom of that board correct? I should only need x, y and +g and -g?

Yes, all the connections you should need are on the breakout board. Depending on the DAC you use, for a single color projector, you would want to use the intensity pin, which is pin 3 on a DB-25, or labeled +i and -i on my breakout board.[/quote]

My green module that I will be using for the scanner only has TTL blanking as far as I know, do I still connect it up in the same way?

Well, again, it depends largely on the DAC you are using. If it is built with any quality, it should have an "intensity" output. For a single color projector, if you just connect the green laser to the green line, then all you will see are the parts of a frame that are drawn in green. Anything drawn in red or blue would be invisible. Which is why you would connect to the intensity line. The intensity line goes high whenever any of the colors are to be displayed. It also doesn't matter if you are running TTL or analog.

I'm also going to have to agree with thesk8nmidget, if you're going to wire up a projector, you might as well wire it the right way. Whether or not using a star grounding technique in a small projector has benefit is debatable in my opinion. It's still best to wire it the way the "Pro's" do.
