well we cant judge that depending on where you live in the world will depend on what you pay for electricity. so you would need to go find your last bill and post your per kw hour rate then find what it costs.

I would not worry about the energy cost.

The only smoke machines I know off have an aerosol can with banana oil that is run through a heating element. The banana oil will cost you a lot more than the energy.

Running it 24h would give you 24*0.7 = 16.8 KWh, here that would cost you something like $4. That is less than just one can of oil, and I do not know how many you can run through in 24h.

The size of the heating element is used to indicate how fast it can burn through a oil can, and what size of electrical installation you will need.

EDIT: thanks Toke :)

Sorry, I read "How much costs a smoke machine" :D

It is possible to pay with a standard giro account at AMAZON. I don´t have a credit card and I always use the bank account checkout there.

and why would i wanna have a 400w instead of 700w?
I mean i wanna use this for events like birthdays, weddings...
wouldnt 400w produce much less smoke then 700w?

The size of the heating element determines how fast it can turn oil into smoke.
It may or may not be adjustable, so you should buy according to how fast you want to fill the room, and how much power you have available in your setup. :)

(And no, I have no idea how fast 400W makes smoke or how big your room is.)

You don't need a heavy-duty smoke machine IMO for anything indoor unless you're talking about fogging an indoor stadium or something gargantuan like that... I'm not trying to sound like a smartass here but just use a low powered fogger 'frequently' for an indoor wedding or birthday. It will do the trick. It's just my .02 but I don't think you need anything heavier unless you own a nightclub or work regularly on the set of graveyard horror movies.

You also want to make sure you use water based 'fogjuice' instead of oil when fogging indoors... You use oil at a wedding & people will be slipping all over the hard floors after about 10 minutes when the oily fog settles. Breakdancing would take on a whole new meaning!

I hope it does the trick for you, 700W is more than enough power to have an indoor fog-out. Don't forget about the difference between water(indoor) & oil(outdoor) based fog juices.... Oily fog will have you laughing yourself nearly unconscious on any hard floors but at the expense of injured friends & family

You can calculate yourself how much it costs. Find your electric bill and look for the rate you pay in kW/hrs (usually it's a few cents) then multiply by your wattage and duration.

If the kW/hr rate is 20 cents and you run a 700 watt smoke machine for 5 hours you have used 3500 watt hours or 3.5kW hrs. At 20 cents each that would cost you 70 cents.

ah well the cheapest was 25 euro with 400w. i bought one for 27,50 euro with 700w, overheat protection and a 4 times larger tank.

bought thick smoke fluid and normal smoke fluid. not light and extreme thick fluid.
hope i made the right choice? :)
