Alright thanks. I think a 12V 3A one should work.

Also i figured out that on the DZE breakout board there is 1 ground and you can flip switches so it will go to all of the other grounds. How cool is that?

Yeah ill take pictures of me building the case and everything. I cant wait!

^ He actually told me that :(

I figured out how to power everything though. I think it will come together quite nicely.

Any ideas for a name? Or any song requests?

Why get a breakout board and a gender changer? Seems pricey and unneeded to me. When I was building a DAC for KGB_Productions I just bought a DB25 connector from radioshack, cost like $2

^You definitely can do that.. that's how I do it also. I only suggested the breakout board because it very simple and guarantees that every connection will be correct. With a single-color scanner there aren't very many connections, though. It is kind of hard to get it wrong..

i would be willing to solder it. I will be building the box so i dont want to have to make a DB25 port on the box. I would rather just have the port be a square (like the port is inside a "holder" of sorts). It would just make things easier...

Also, does anyone know how high LSP's dichro mounts are? Both of the beams are going to be 15mm above the base plate.

Mariomaster: did you make the pokerface beam show? Thats what made me want to build a scanner in the first place :)

EDIT: i found a piece of aluminum that i could use to prop up the green laser. The beams from the green laser and red wont be totally aligned. They will be .43mm off. Would this be noticeable in a scanner? I would just be doing beam shows...Would this totally throw off part of the image?

They are really good. I may need some help learning how to use spaghetti. Would you be willing? I asked a friend for a song suggestion and he said "Tricky - Run DMC". Havent even heard the song before lol...

Will the .43mm difference be a problem?

Check out what i found:

This is a square so i dont have to make a weird hole in the box. Just a square. 1 is x+ 2 is x- ect. Ill look at the diagram. I will be using the DZE for the DAC side. This will go in my scanner. Ill make a little "shelf" in the scanner. I'll be able to bolt this to the "shelf" so it doesnt move around too much.

Tricky by Run-DMC? That is an OLD song from around 1984. Very old school rap. I like it but an odd choice. :)

I'll answer any Spaghetti questions you or anyone else might have.

^Nice work on the shows Mario! I didn't know you made them. Good stuff!

Spaghetti needs a way to control the shows manually in real time. I've started doing events and it's hard to put shows together with spaghetti since I never know just what the music will be like.. I've got a bunch of ready-made shows full of random stuff, but it would be awesome if I could control fades, blackouts, and patterns in real-time to the music. The best I have now is the Laser Output button.. That's probably a tall order, though..

Have you tried Wet Noodles? It's supposed to be a realtime laser program made by the same guy, although I have not personally used it.

half a mm shouldn't be super critical, although the image will look best if the green laser is totally centered within the red laser beam

Yeah i had never even heard of it..I might just do it for fun.

I would also like to know all of that stuff. I heard of wet noodles a couple months ago and people were still saying it is buggy. Is it still pretty bad?

Im going to stick with spaghetti for now.

Im not doing very many images...More beamshows like the pokerface one.

I'll be ordering today! (im also getting braces today :()

Thanks guys

Wet Noodles is nothing more than a prototype at best. It isn't even available for download anymore. I will probably continue working on it sometime but for now it is on hold.
