^ just keep present that it's not "..... +50mW yellow" as stated ..... i mean, there's no yellow lasers inside, it's just made summing green and red (Otherwise, i suppose peoples was already mangling all them for get "50mW yellow" modules, considering their prices :p :D).

They have a cheap RGB one listed, but don't expect too much, from an unit using 5K motors ..... anyway, RGB is probably better than RGY only ..... they have also another one, more powerful, but was around 220$, if i recall correctly..

But, you mean projectors, or just "lasershows" like diffractiongratings / star patterns ?

Star patterns ones are also small sizes, but for a real projector, i think is a bit difficult to find something so small and light ..... also making it yourself, it still need galvos, the lasers, power supplies, control boards, cooling ..... don't know how much "small" an RGB projector can be reduced.

The little ones are cute... Check the review section...
I reviewed the star type projectors from Dealextreme (same crap)
I reviewed the Casa RGY which would be similar to any mid range RGY unit and I reviewed the RGB one I just got.

They are all good but the RGB one is seriously cool and if you are looking to spend a little more I would get that one. If you want to be able to program it at some point you need an ILDA interface. The Reke 500RGB has ILDA and DMX. The ones you linked have DMX or nothing.

That handheld thing is probably going to be a piece of crap and I wouldn't waste my money on it It doesn't have a motor or anything so you have to turn the dial on the front manually to change effects. If you are looking for something that will go in your pocket that's probably your best option.. The Reke unit is still quite portable (even though it's big and a little heavy) It's not unreasonable to move around, toss in a car or even take it on a bus.
(I don't know if I would want to walk 10 miles carrying it or anything)

BTW the RGY unit you linked in your original post is the same size as the RGB one and is by far less cool and flexible.

This won't help the OP but FYI: New 3 COLOR RGY anime mini laser stage lighting Light | eBay

It's tiny and it does animations like a bigger ones. Don't ask me how they fit all that crap in there.

^ probably using stepper motors instead galvos ..... they are more small, and also the electronic don't require the same space.

I guess but steppers are still pretty big... even in my diffraction mini projector it's pretty darn tight inside.

Steppers are huge compared to galvos.

I've pulled apart a couple of "stepper" lasers, and have 2 sets of galvos sitting here. Galvos are heaps smaller (physically) than steppers, but the drive amplifiers are much bigger than stepper drivers, and more complex :p

Yeah I just looked inside my galvo projector they are a lot smaller. I still don't get how they fit all that crap inside that tiny box...
