Dont know if anyone has posted this before. But really easy and looks cool. I might try it and post a video. Has anyone ever tried this before?

It will work in some way but the effect is never the same , rather then a crappy random moving laser beam in all kinds of directions out of a small angle.

Well a ATX is never really that stable , i killed a few of my cheaper lasers with a atx and some people here on LPF told me that ATX power supplies are not good for powering lasers DPSS or diodes ... that's why we use batteries or othr dc supplies
I prefer a good solid car batt to power my more expensive lasers, can't beat a 12 volt 85 Ah batterie :)

Neat and simple project. Pretty much the same concept as gluing a mirror to a speaker cone.

Was I the only one cringing when he put his face behind to blow and put his eyes in serious danger??

Holy shit I didn't notice that.. Imagine if he moved it by accident and it burned through the balloon.

He had the beam pretty close to his face as well when he was hitting the camera with the beam... :(

Not cool to have un-eye-safe tutorials...

Ya I hate when tutorials that are viewed by many laser noobs on YouTube, don't demonstrate proper safety. Still ill probably try this (with laser glasses)

Me too.... I get flak from uneducated viewers too when I comment about safety on youtube videos. :(

Knock yourself out with this experiment...safely. :D
It's a neat project to have fun with, if you don't have a projector to play with. ;)

I did this with an 8mw green laser, a pringles can and a small piece of mirror with hot glue. just cut the bottom off the can and spread the balloon over the top and put the open end over a subwoofer. Worked alright, would probably look pretty good with a little more power in a smoky room. Definitely going to try this set up for some cheap shows at my friends' parties just for kicks
