TBH I haven't seen that many people try, so I can't say it's all that hard, no, but the few I have seen try weren't successful as I recall. I always use my scope, so I've never tried to use a meter..

Close, but not quite. Each one of those wires is the positive side of the input signal. The galvos negative side will be connected to ground on the correction amp board. So the X galvo + signal is the blue wire, the X galvo - signal is ground. The Y galvo + signal is the white wire, and the Y galvo - signal is ground. On the correction amp inputs (the pins on the other side of the correction amp where the signals from the sound card come in) you only use one wire to connect each incoming sound card channel, so only the blue and white wires in that picture are for X and Y. You only need to use two wires on the correction amp outputs. Once you get the parts, if you assemble it precisely as I describe in the tutorial, you shouldn't have any problem. The channels are already routed.

You really need to read the tutorial thoroughly. I have already typed all that once, and it's all in there. I don't really feel like typing it all again.

there ya go!! absolutely right.. You won't have to worry about that with the correction amp since it will supply the grounds, you just need to connect those grounds on the sound card to the correction amp as described in the tutorial, the correction amp then supplies the grounds to each channel. I will warn you that if you attempt to drive your galvos with the sound card by itself (no correction amp) you won't have much success. The galvos might move a little, but the picture they draw would be the size of a postcard at 20 feet..

i labeled the calibrating board with numbers 1-12. Which are the pots that I need to adjust to calibrate it? i was a little confused when i read this in the tutorial.

You'll notice that there are 6 sets of two pots. Each channel has an offset pot and a gain pot. you'll need to adjust both of these for Ch.1 and 2. In your picture, you'll adjust 1 and 4 for Ch.1, and 2 and 5 for Ch. 2. I wrote the tutorial under the assumption that the reader would already have the necessary parts on hand so they can see the labels.

First you'll observe the voltage on each channel without max.wav playing and set the offset so that the meter reads 0V. Then you'll play max.wav and set the gain so that each channel reads 5V.

ok i c. just rapping things up here. so the galvos connect to there own seperate amp (2 amps)? the the wires that come off the amp (+) (-) ground. i ignore the ground and connect the (-) (+) to the sound card like i have in the picture?
