So I was thinking about picking up one of those http://chinesedepartmentstore.com/lasershowparts.htm 10k scanner  systems. I know some people have set the 15k up in RG and i was wondering if i can do the same with the 10k. Also, how fast do you think i would get the scanners going with some fine tuning?

Thanks

Erm - link not found, man - I changed it a few times, trying to help out, but no dice - sorry :(

Here you go, try this link :)

http://www.chinesedepartmentstore.com.cn/osc/product_info.php?products_id=1839&country=223&QTY=16

With ordering 16 units @ $120 each, and adding in the shipping to the USA for all of those unists, it would break down to $ 132.71 each, shipped to one destination - then you figure $4.60 each for shipping ot each of the 16 people, the total cost, shipped at 16 units ordered would be : $137.31 each unit, whereas orderring one unit seperately would cost $ 137.00 for the unit, plus $ 31.72 shipping, for a total of $168.72 shipped to one person in the USA. So - if you got 15 others interested in this deal, and do all the shipping ,etc (by the way, all the estimates were figured with their most expensive shipping option, DHL 7-10 day delivery) you would save an average of $ 32.03 per unit versus ordering them seperately :) WHEW hard math :p hehehehe

Fine tuning the unit might void your warrenty, so i dont think it would be wise. As for the speed you wont really notice the difference, its only once you start going past 20k that your images or scans get better. Im also thinking of ordering that set of scanners, hopefully soon

I have emailed them and asked for prices. I have not heard back on the 12k galvos but the 30k are $250 for 1 set. I will ask for prices for batches of 10 of each.

Andy your post is a bit vague  You say you know a lot about them but only say their service is not great? Anything else you can share with us?

Strange I just bought a 30k set with a DMX board and a ILDA switch (did not really need the switch) for under $300. Darry has replied to about 10 of my emails over the last 24 hours and they seem really helpful. The same 30k galvos and DMX board go for $446 on the laser show parts site without the ILDA switch.

Cheers
