If you go bid now you might get it for only a few dollars with the shipping :D

That looks like it could be very close the the same size as an L2 which has very good
heat sinking, only by buying one will we know.

A real good price, I wonder how good the switch is, maybe the same quality as we see now.

It almost looks like the Ultrafire C3 (Google it), but hard tell from the picture. They have a version with the extension tube as well. If it is the C3, MohGasm.com sells heat sinks for it. They are all over eBay for about $10 to $12, shipped.

I've had all of these flashlights as flashlights. I still have the C3-esque host. It's switch is really really cheap. It also has a plastic pill, so it's not great for a laser host unless you can get a heatsink that is extended and hollowed out to fit the stock PCB or something.

The other flashlight (the Police one) is actually a good flashlight. It has a built in charger! But I've only seen a few builds that use these and IIRC they were pretty difficult to prep, make a heatsink, and assemble.

Couldn't you just take out the pill? I thought that was the purpose of getting a heatsink.

Well yes, but then how would you have a secure spot to draw positive voltage from? I suppose you could use a spring, but some people design heatsinks with holes and cavities to accommodate a pill

Guys, pay attention to *REALLY CHEAP* hosts that look like *CHEAP* hosts.

It really boggles my mind, but there are actually "clones of clones" out there. What you have to understand first is that a lot of the $15 to $30 hosts we're familiar with are themselves clones of really expensive lights (like the $200+ torches that CPF-ers buy). I'm not actually sure if the C3 is a clone of something expensive, but the C3 is an example of the type and quality of host that might be. But then, there "clones of the clones". They look more like the copies, than they do the originals, and often use names that sound like the clones (not the originals), but they're another step crappier than the clones.

The light linked in that OP is, I believe, a clone of the C3. At the very least, I'll say that I've bought "C3-like" torches on eBay a few times, and they've been complete utter crap. I've thrown them away (trash bin, no use, nothing). Half the time they won't even work as flashlights straight out of the box. Most of the switches are junk, the annodizing is really crappy, and they'll have awkwardly fitting threads.

C3s are cheap enough as-is, no need to go for the $4 eBay specials. PLUS, if you had dreams of ordering Moh's C3 heatsinks, good luck! You'll need it, because the cheap C3 copies are never going to come close to the already loose tolerances of a host like the C3.
