Stuff I have ordered from aliexpress has arrived in about a week on average.
Where do you live? There may be a member near you with an LPM.

During checkout it said 2-3weeks. Maybe they just wanted to give themselves extra time. I'm in Salt Lake City, UT.

I'm pretty close... I'm in Phoenix, AZ.

EDIT: And I have a semi-accurate LPM.

Cmendoza, are you planning to keep all of them if they turn out to be on or close to spec?

If the output power is close to the 100-300mW they state, I'll take one.

Although you do bring up a valid point, seeing as the description is different than the title, I believe we are looking for a 20mw laser.

Yobresal is going to do a full eval on one when they come. I'll probably sell one or two of the others. Fenzir and Ash can have first dibs if I sell! If these are really 445nm and up to spec, I imagine someone will organize a bigger group buy.

I hate to say it, but I think you'll find that these are 405s. I've seen 405s labeled as 445s all over the place :(

Its not the 445nm diode we use thats for sure unless they have corrective optics in there too. Which they dont.

Does that dot look like a multimode line to you?

But the driver requires 4.5V. That's too low for a violet if it is linear - and if it were a boost driver, you'd think it would be able to handle a more common 3V supply.

That's not too low for a violet. While we're used to seeing 6V as a common Vf for the 405s we build with here, that same wisdom isn't true across the board for 405. The really low powered 405s generally have a Vf of 4.5 or 4.8.

Add in the dropout from the regulator, and it's not possible.

Even if the regulator had no dropout, it would only be powered for 5 minutes - alkaline voltage sags rather quickly.

Lasers came today!!!

They are ......................... 405nm and take 2 AAA batteries :(

Not too big a surprise. I'm contacting them to see if they'll make good.

Yobresal, there's no doubt that they are 405nm. Do you still want me to send one?

That sucks. I really wanted a low power 445
