Used 12" speakers? Wouldn't be surprised if they were previously blown, and sounded like shit.

Quite possible, though these are the chances you take :)

Alot of members here take chances when they buy lasers from new or un trusted sites. I cant see how taking a chance here would be much different. You could always ask the owner if they were previously blown and if they would refund your money.

The risk is with the buyer :)

Edit: i will change the title to "used" so nobody here bids then notices.

It still sounds like a good deal. Even if the speakers aren't the best sounding, you get a 760W amp (hopefully functioning) as well.
Looked up some reviews on that (now discontinued) amp.

Note: those reviews were from 2003/2004. Looks like that amp has been around for a while. It may be 10 years old now.?

Bridged (for subs), it probably gives you 760W, but for stereo, it looks like only a few hundred watts per channel.
Personally, I would take my money to the nearest "fry's electronics" and get new stuff.

Why would you buy such crappy speakers?

1200W? Yeah, right. Like you'll ever need that amount of power and like they'd actually put out 1200W of pure sound power. If you want power you can do it with a monostage transistor arrangement, you can get a huge amount of the precious Watts... but at what cost? They'll sound terrible ;)

Same with that amplifier... people nowadays only care about power when talking about car audio. If they actually knew they can get by with just 25W (true 25W)...
