Neither the auction house nor the shipper are associated with Chris. BOTH the house and shipper provide this same service to others.

The only warnings from my research about either of them is that the auction house will NOT help you if Chris sends crap and the shipper has your credit card info and a free hand to charge as she sees fit.

From the reports on the auction house on the web, if you decide that the shipping is too high, you will still be obligated to pay it or the auction house and/or the shipper will proceed with collections against you.

The warnings about Chris himself have been posted.

Y'all will do as you will. There are just too many ways to lose here for me to get involved.

Peace,
dave

I don't get why they don't accept paypal :<(

PayPal would add another 3% (and they would probably be reporting the business to the IRS)

And, possibly, PayPal doesn't want them ;) if you get too many disputes and/or claims, PayPal drops you.

That is what happened with Chris. He cannot get PayPal anymore, because PayPal won't accept his business (same with eBay).

Peace,
dave

As well in our conversation she mentioned that the auction will end on a Friday and she will pick up the items on the next monday, and it will take a few days from the to process it all and get it shipped......(again this was just a polite conversation, if you wish to set something in stone, call her directly)

Are you saying that the Auction House does not have the Auction
listed items in their possession...

Sorry to not be clear, that conversation was with the shipper. The auction house does have all the items.;)

I cannot find any reference to that.

In addition, the shipping company does shipping for other sellers as well.

The auction house and shipper being legit is great....but since the general public doesnt know the first thing about lasers there is no guarantee that what you will get is what you purchased. Its not like Sharon is going to look in the box and say "hey thats not a 100mW argon laser and psu!" And once its at your house good luck trying to argue about what you got and/or paying to ship large items back.

For those of you who are bidding, care to post your ProxiBid usernames?
It would be nice if the auctions didn't get bid up very much, considering how sketchy Chris is known to be.
If several of us want a lot, we can conspire to part it out afterwards :)
I'm 'bwang' on ProxiBid, btw.

I am bidding under my same name "flecom"

You can see some of the things in operation on youtube. YouTube - heruursciences's Channel

To the people of LPF, maybe you can get together with somebody and do a group buy, that is if the person doing the buy is relaible.

FWIW, the shipping and handling is going to be reasonable especially when one considers what these items would go for if sold on ebay. The only reason they are not being sold on ebay is that I don't have a paypal account and most peole that offered to help were either too far away to reliably sell it for me or untrustworthy. Not to mention the speed and efficiency with which a consignment seller was attacked and kicked off ebay by matt gibson, ben steigerwald, potatorage, and a couple others. Therefore an auction service will liquidate it as part of a forced bankrupcy sale. What it sells for is what it sells for; at the least, I hope it's enough to pay my medical bills and other expenses.

It will be actual shipping cost +$3 to $5 per shipment on most items; roughly $10 to $15 per package for most items. Bulky and big things like the HGM-5 tube will cost more of course though.

If he is a scammer why is he not banned? I really don't get it. There are mods and the like posting in this forum that he is a scammer, and yet we continue to let him advertise here and trick people into buying his crap? The only good that can come of this is for him, specifically, for his wallet. Why not just ban him, delete the thread, and then not have any new users tricked into thinking they've found really good deals? Seems like the MUCH greater good here.

We are a bit more laissez-faire than such an action would require.

Sometimes Chris is stellar.

Sometimes Chris is unresponsive at best.

Those that have had problems with him post such.

Those that have had no problems with him post as well.

Now it is up to YOU to decide what you will do ;)

It is always interesting to read what someone with 15 posts would do if they were running the forum

Peace,
dave
