"shipping to USA" and no shipping calculation for outside USA, as usual :p

Better check always also the shipping fees, for not get frauded from some of these sellers (NOT saying that this particular one is a fraud ..... just saying that i already found on ebay items with 10$ price and 289,99$ shipping fees :p)

I know what you mean, it's like those cheap BR and green pens from China that are $2 Buy It Now and $9 shipping. :wtf:

Its a shipping calculator for the US. Its ~$20 shipping to me, on the opposite side of the country.

Damn, wish I had the extra $$. Good find Proto!!!

You need to use their heads (or at least a compatible head), that is not in the auction ..... the resolution and precision depends from the head sensitivity and calibration (anyway almost all the scientech thermopiles heads that i know have a built-in thermal calibrator, for check if they are still calibrated)

And no, if is a thermopile with broadband absorption coating, you don't need to compensate from different wavelenghts ..... only if you use photodiode heads, you need this.

Several of the veterans use the Scientech 365 (including me)

You will need to buy a Scientech thermopile and then calibrate it. Thermopiles are available used as well. However, they will run you ~$100, used from eBay as well.

Just search "scientech" in eBay. You will find several of these units W/O thermopiles and several thermopiles. Some are less expensive. Some are more expensive

Dave will be most interested in this - as HIMNL9 said, this will need a calorimeter and calibration before use.

EDIT: seems I was several hours late. Composed this reply but only hit "Post" a few hours later...

Not completely sure, but i think these are high-power heads ..... as far as i remember, the 360001 had broadband coating from 250 to 1100nm, and an output that was from 90 to 100mv for each Watt, depending from the calibration ..... not 100% sure, my memory is not perfect, sorry.

BTW, look in the other items, the same seller have a lot of these high power heads :D

The 365, that is a good price if you live in the USA, but for international shipping it cost the same as the meter (for me the calculator say 65$ for shipping :p)
