In one of the pictures I can see:
1. a white LED shining
2. a violet LED shining
3. a red laser shining

Yep, I noticed these things also. In terms of their naming conventions, on other similarly pictured red pointers, they say "red beam". So there must be some reason that they have said purple beam here. Nevertheless, I certainly agree that this is a sketchy longshot!

Trying not to be too mean, but this stuff makes me laugh^^.

You are NOT going to get a purple and red in one keychain size laser w/ a white LED for $2 shipped worldwide... All these people thinking similar things such as "OMG, it says 1W green for $50 - I know it's a long shot, but I'll try it" Are wrong. People who think "Ohh look, it says blue laser for $30 - it's probably purple 5mW, but still, I'll try it". are also wrong. People who don't take advice lose money. The only difference between this and online gambling is that at least they get a cheap item in return (whereas I really did blow some big $$ on online poker :( ).

That said, I'm still 90% certain I'll get a red laser, for $2, and call it a day. That's fine, it's $2, and an interesting thing to wait for in the mail :)

Seriously, if I've just spent $2 and end up with a red laser, I won't feel too bad about it (I'll stick it in my dog's Christmas stocking, he'll love it)

Thats because the people who list this stuff dont know English. Red light is not for currency detection. Its obviously a red laser pointer, with a UV, and white LED. I guess if thats what you were looking for it would be OK. But I wouldn't wast my money, nor wait a month to get it.

I actually own one of these lasers (my brother gave it to me for my birthday), and the "purple laser", is really just a UV L.E.D. This would be why it says built in bank note tester. Have a look at the third picture down and it shows the red laser dot and the two L.E.D.s. Lastly the UV L.E.D has a fairly low level of fluorescence, but still for $2 it is pretty good. Only a few years ago you'd be looking at about $20 for thesame thing and beforethat even more!
