If you have a Kmart store (or multiple ones) near you, it would probably be worthwhile to stop by.  I've been reading reports from onlne deal sites that IF they have the Xbox HD-DVD players, they're GREATLY marked down.  I've seen people saying from $37 down to $5!!

I'm gonna go check out my local ones today... hopefully I'll score me some super cheap diodes, even if they aren't the high power 803T, I'd settle for the DT0811 for <$30.  But, it's quite likely that your Kmart doesn't have any, so you can always try calling them to see, but you always run the risk of the employee wanting it for his/her-self and just telling you they don't have any  ;D

I think that kmart and sears are owned by the same company (you can also buy craftsman tools and kenmore appliances at kmart now.) If so, then sears may have the same pricing.

I think most places that have them anymore will be marked down, but the problem is finding the places that still have them.   Sears would be a good look though, especially if they have the same markdowns as Kmart!

I agree...but with gas as expensive as it is, I'm not going to put many miles on my car for a low probability find!

I agree... fortunately, I have a Kmart about 1mi down the road from me. So, if you happen to live close, or you're going to be near one, it may be worth a peak in.

I know what you mean... I drive a Honda Civic and it STILL kills me on the cost of gas (doesn't help that it needs some work and is only getting ~20mpg  ::)).

The Kmart down the street from me didn't have any. I didn't check the other nearest one, but it seems like it probably won't yield anything either  :-/

I'm not sure if Kmart is still doing it but on [link=www.slickdeals.net]slickdeals[/link] a lot of people were doing the gift card scams, buy 50$ of gift card and get $10 GC free, then repeat as they allow GC purchase with a GC. It'd be sweet to do that a few times then use the free money to buy some blu ray diodes!

Gas is a Killer it stopped alot of people from going places this summer.

Little OT.

Lol, our gas prices are insane compared to US prices.
We pay like 1.56 euro = $2.5 a liter.
1 US gallon = 3.79 liter or 1 liter = 0.26 US gallons.
You do the math. Thank god my Alfa only has 120 hp...

I went today, $37 for a drive :(

Still not bad... but, not really great. It's possible you could buy it then come back in less than whatever their return limit is and get a price match if they happen to drop their price in that time. If they don't, you can just return it, as long as you don't the urge to rip the thing open in the mean time ;)

actually you guys have way better gas prices compared to us. mainly because you forgot to add in a missing component that i noticed while i was on my euro-trip last week. In England, regular gas, or as they call it petrol, has an octane level of 95; and in the US, our PREMIUM gas which is about 20-40 cents more expensive than regular is only 93 octane.

They don't use the same octane rating over there. 95 RON is the same as our 91 octane. Check out the octane rating section of this page for a detailed explanation.
