Lies. They've got tape on the side. If they showed either end, I'm sure you'd see the remains of the solder tabs. These are obviously laptop battery pulls - NOT new.

not that I really care (shipping to me is 150$), but it does say:
"Condition:New Pulled
Manufacturer: HP/Compaq"
so it's not complete lies

First one: good for shocking the cat. The dumb cat will wonder what that was and come back for more :p If arced tip to tip, will produce a harmless ticking noise style arc.

Second one: good for shocking the dog... dead. (if this one was around 1kv, I'd go for it - more current). Useful for charging capacitors (just remove the disc caps at the end). This ones the most dangerous of the lot, and can give you a really nasty shock due to the caps. If arced tip to tip, should produce quite a loud snapping fat arc. Not good to touch :)

Third one: Great for lighting up flouro's and old CRT's, and shocking people. These usually have no current (ok a tiny bit) but make great people shockers. They hurt like mad, but dont do any real damage. Tip to tip arcing should produce a purple hissy arc.

Fourth one: good for messing up your neighbours telly reception while you watch the arcy sparcy display. Worst you will get from this is an RF burn so dont do it. Tip to tip arcing not recommended (unless you want to blow it up) :)

For many of those, you might as well take apart a $6 bug zapper Racket. They're ~1.7kV (at a mA or two?) and voltage multipliers could be added.

or get the guts out of a defibrillator. Heaps more current, insanely dangerous, and good for actually destroying stuff. Around 200J or so for a good one :)

If there is someone out there who wants to organize a GB for the mirror mounts, it may be a good idea.

Otherwise, I will probably buy all of the mounts if the price does not increase tremendously, and I may be willing to ship out a few small batches for reasonable prices (though I would want to keep a majority for my own use).

Edit: By the way, I am located in the US.
2nd Edit: Again though, if there is someone out there who wants all of these mounts and would be willing to pay more, I do not mean to be calling 'dibs' on them. I did not find the set to begin with.

Yeah, I would rather not bid against you and take the lot, but I'd love to buy some from you later.

No way am I taking apart my bug zapper racket! I have too much fun with it! :D

Yes, I did manage to get the mirrors :) I was worried because somebody did bid before me, but I ended up getting it just a $1 more than that. I used the snipe bidding service of Gixen, since I was at work. Thanks ped, +rep.

I guess I will wait until I receive them until I give some more details. Figuring out prices, shipping, and packaging may be some trouble. More so, just the time to do it all is a bit of a hassle. But that can be discussed later.

Edit: by the way, I just want to say in advance that the pricing would not simply be $65/73pcs each. I mean, the aluminum and steel base ones are pretty much all I wanted, but almost half of the 73 mirrors are the small 8x10mm small base plate ones. I don't want to be mean and keep them all for myself, but I also do not want to let go of too many of them. I would rather sell the 8x10mm.

Great. Keep us posted on your plans. I may take more than 4 four from you. Yep shipping out a small orders could be a pain.

That's a very interesting laser! Thanks for the links and information.

I would think that it would take a lot more research to get it up and running, but those HeNe's do last for a while so it very well may be in working condition. A lab full of different gasses and equipment is an other thing though.;)
