He says it works but it may not work for long XD

A friend of mine had a UV laser many years ago it was muti-mode but very cool. It kinda looked like a 405nm but deeper in color. I wish the guy selling would just run it and snap a few photos.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Hey guys, I recently got a Microvision ShowX (Microvision Showwx Laser Pico Projector | eBay) and I am looking to open it up to separate out the projection module and the rest (battery and other stuff) - my aim is to tape the projection module onto a pen while the battery can be connected with a long wire which can remain in my pockets or something. Any tips on opening it up and how, if possible, can I do the above without damaging the projector. I don't have much hands-on experience with electronics but I understand some of it. Also any ideas on other laser projectors that might be smaller than this one?

Yes and no.

I've got the diode system from one of those projectors on my desk. The green diode is hard to drive.

Group buy will likely happen over at BLF for the Sumbeam K40 XML2 flashlight, for $83.30 shipped. The XML version of this light runs $110-$120

[GB Feeler] Supbeam k40-l2 | BudgetLightForum.com

I'm on the fence, since it's very similar to other lights I already own, but the price is excellent.

Complete flashlight noob here. I know nothing. How much will this be compared to the DX 18650 flashlight I have?

Depends on the DX 18650 flashlight you have...

This flashlight is a pure thrower, it will put out a very solid beam of light, far out. I'm willing to bet it will also be noticeably brighter.

Pure throw lights are awesome outside, but not super useful on a day to day basis.

If you're considering a first semi serious light purchase I suggest getting in on this GB instead: [GroupBuy] Supfire m6 triple - ENDING SOON! Read bottom of OP! | BudgetLightForum.com

In terms of utility, in case of say a blackout, it will be more useful.

Thanks for those links! May have to get in on one of those group buys. I am looking to get a good thrower and a good flooder.

Getting a flashlight that runs on li-ions was the best decision ever. I got one for everyone in my family. Never going back to retail flashlights. Ever.

Aww come on. Don't be like that!

I walked into a sports equipment store, and strolled over to their camping gear & flashlights section.

You know how powerful their best light was? For $79.99 iirc...

A whopping 500 lumens!

Get yourself a Fenix TK75. Best of both worlds.

For a budget thrower get a SkyRay King. If you want way more quality, and a smaller size, but with an increase in price, I love my Zebralight S6330... smaller than a soda can.

For a mid range budget thrower, this with coupon code BLF is great, especially with an aspheric head.

For high end production throwers, Niwalker BK FA01 seems to be the best option out there right now.

@mhemling33 - Glad it helped. I can't imagine the M6 being worse than 95% of the SRK's out there, and based on Supbeam reputation I expect it to be somewhat better. Ordered two myself :D

After getting those, conservatively, I'll be able to put out 25,000 lumens :tinfoil:
