Let me go by saying that it is a FEDERAL crime to send one of these outside of the US. So that being said this has already passed the US boarder therefore nobody can get in trouble :). Not to mention it is quite uncommon to find these outside the US. MIlasers used to sell full SSY-1's but no longer does.

These are really cool lasers and EXTREMELY dangerous. So I would recommend you already have GOOD glasses that can protect against 1064 lasers. This laser is also Q- Switched and CAN pump huge amounts of energy into a KTP to get green :D

Yeah - whoever got that out of the country would be in copious amounts of trouble if they were caught. Surely obtaining an already-exported unit would not be grounds for "intentional export" do you think?

Yes, I am watching it. I'm seriously considering it, but I am already inside the silk curtain. I'll have other chances to buy such a laser. Go ahead and set the bar... but I'll be watching. ;)

I'm no expert on exporting surplus US military equipment. However I could comfortably say that the US government would be out of jurisdiction to come after anyone outside the US who obtained military equipment illegally. However, they still may want to know who exported it.

Then again we are talking about a 60+ year old piece of equipment here. I really wouldn't be worried about it. I only mentioned it because it IS a federal crime to export these (if caught).

Does anyone know how to obtain an SSY-1 within the states? Sounds pretty cool to me....

I got my 3 c8's in i really like them I definitely want to use them in builds. I actually went to buy more but the code doesn't work but I found them on ebay for cheaper!!!

I got my 2 C8's in too but 1 doesn't work and only received 1 batt and 1 charger, not 2 of each

also did you guys have to sign when delivered- I missed a delivery for what I am not sure- could have been my C8s as I ordered around the same time as youse guys did.

Marc is doing the work for us on the heatsinks GB with good guy Mike 'mcrouse'
please get in on this GB so we have enough to get a good price Mike & dad make excellent heatsinks- and quick too. be sure to give all a nice rep bump-

As long as all these C8 are very closed in size you will be able to get some HSs from Mike later, but it would still be better for all if we ordered and got them made while Mike has his lathe set up.

I plan to mail Mike a check- screw Papal - look for the new thread in GBs section and am good for four of them.
