Hak,
I'll probably take 1 also.
I will most likely keep mine as a flashlight, depending on it's performance.
I may order another flashlight to alter, if the price stays low.

w/o item # we will not know if we are bidding on the same item.......im not in the market for one of these but other members may be and they wont know if it is the same one as your bidding on. if you dont want to add item # i can understand that as well though.

well somebody-- has bid the cost of the broken A-140 to $100 and the auction still has two days to go- I have a snipe placed that is not much higher so its not looking too good for me..I just hope that this bidder did not find this auction by using the item number i posted- if so i hope i never find out about that- i have a hard time forgiving and forgetting- guess you could say I make a great friend but an even greater enemy.

I did not want that PJ to harvest and sell the diodes- I was hoping to put it into one of the kasios I have here that has no diode block in it anymore. And use it for the intended purpose..
I wonder if the winner will try to sell the diodes as 'new' being broken they will have no clue about how many hours it has on it.. thats dirty pool to sell VERY used diodes as 'gently and barely 'used.
If he tries to sell them on EEKbay I WILL know who he is and I WILL be warning all to NOT buy them.

Hak, i would hope that no one would do this. that is just cheap dirty sportsmanship. If someone uses this thread as a place to snipe deals away from other members, than that is despicable. I hope you end up winning the auction and keep us updated. ill keep my eye out on fleebay if you dont win it so we can find the scumbag.

on the flip side this thread does have good deals people can snipe but NOT auctions, in case someone forgot :)

EDIT: what is the incentive to harvest diodes rather than buy from someone like DTR? you dont know the use of the diodes and even if the seller says under 1000 hours it could be a lie. never really thought of it but DTR sells all new diodes right or does he harvest them as well?

Me too I hope no one would do that to hak. especially with all the deals and help he has given everyone here.

DTR purchases brand new projectors that are sealed and harvests the diodes from them. Harvesting is the only way to get the diodes. The benefit to doing it yourself is to save money, DTR has to make something of each diode he extracts and its amazing how he can sell them for such a good price and his labor is included.

The down side is if you mess up the diodes harvesting them thats on you and you deal with the loss. When you buy from DTR he takes on the risks of harvesting them and you don't. I would say DTR has to be in the running for most experienced harvester so his risks are minimal because he know what he is doing.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

I just looked again- he had not started bidding until after i posted 'dibbs' in this thread.
I WILL know if he is a member as even tho we are no longer allowed to know who is bidding we DO know the bidder are a count of 480-- thay have been around a while or done a LOT of buying and selling if not. si If anyone see A-140 diodes on feeBay by a seller with a count of 480 or a little higher-- don't buy any-- you may want to 'ask seller' just exactly how many hours are on it and could he post a pic showing proof of that- I did that once and the seller gave me some bull about it belonging to a friend that just got deployed and needed the $$ and he did not want to open the box to check but assured me it was low hours- that was a lie. I was like-- 'thats great you are helping out somebody that is defending our country.' so when I got it I found it had a bunch ( like 4% of the estimated hours these are SUPPOSED to last IIRC 900 hrs)and I am pretty much selling he 130 diodes cheap and keeping some should these fail & I want to replace- I tested them and all were working , but the bigger Q is how long?? lesson learned-- if the seller will not send a pic showing the hours dont buy or bid..

BUT if the winner tells me he was watching before my post i will give them the benefit of the doubt and no hold that against them( this time)

@ mhelming 33 are you using a snipe service to win that 145? if not maybe you should-- I can send you a link to the one I use- they were the first and stilll the best and you can snipe this kasio for free and also two more free snipes- I can send you a link to use that will get me thre free snipes too- no charge when you dont win and only 1% fee id=f you do win.. I set mine to snipe with 6 seconds left- and never pay any more than just a little over the other bidders max.
and that is something you cannot do manually-if they have Ebay auto bidding you will lose every time except when you just get very lucky.. when the time runs out its over , when using my sniper its not over until the other bidder beats my highest bid.
I get emails when the bid has gone past what I set for my snipe- That way i can bump my max up if i want-- I NEVER bid on high priced items I only snipe them.

When i DO lose its most likely to another thats using a snipe service- you can tell that as in most cases they have no bids in the histroy but there winning one and auto bids at the end- EEK bay hates snippers and that makes me want to use them even more

@ hak yea I use myibidder auction snipper pro for android it cost like $4.99 but is great. I can set snipe times of 3s,5s,7s,10s,etc. it also allows me to group items. So say there are three projectors going off that night all close in price I can put them in a group and set my snipe for each item, but i can tell it to stop bidding when I win 1 or 2 or 3 items.

Hak did you look at the proj listing I have any idea what those lights mean or if it has been gutted. What do you think.

Hello-- can you please tell me if you are the original owner and if not do you know for a fact that no parts have been removed?
Do you have a guess as to how many hours this has been used- can you take a photo of the bottom and add it to your listing- do the screws there look like they have been removed and replaced?/ Thanks and good luck on you item-- snap

I just sent this to the seller for you-- how he answers may give you reason to bid or not- wish I had seen this first and that the diode array is untouched- My guess is that it no longer has the diodes inside- just a hunch- good luck and please do let us know how this all plays out for you.

i expect a good deal on a diode or two,,,,,lol j/k

Good to know DTR buys new and risks everything for us. i don't think id start harvesting until i had at least a few successful builds under my belt and even then idk if i would since it means id have MANY of the same diodes, in that case i guess id just sell builds :)

the lights could be a good sign I dont have a empty M kasio projector to plug in and tell you what lights are on- but Jordan has and he will do that for you- he is also very good to get help from when you find listings like this- and he will not bid against a fellow member unless he already knew of the listing- and then he will let you know- Jordan is one of the best guys at LPF--

I will go plug in an A-140 that has no diodes and post here what lights I see on or not--
brb

Okay I am back

I plugged in my 140- first two yellow lites come on and when I press 'ON' I first see three yellows which then turn to just two lights and.. both are red... That does not prove that the diodes are gone but IMO its not really good news .... So how and if the seller replies to my Qs should give you more clues-- And if they lie- I will send you all these Q&As and you can file a dispute as item NOT as described-- he will have to refund ALL you paid including the 25$ he wants to overcharge you to ship-- I have seen kasios ship for $10 and since it is already not working insurance or expensive shipping is IMO a waste of $$..

Ill hook you up! I sent him a message this morning asking if it had ever been taken apart and that the reason I am interested is because I need the internal light and laser source..... he never responded.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Well- if it does not go too high-- but seeing the one I was looking at (A-140)reach 100$ with 2 days left I would NOT doubt that many more 'diode harvestors' are looking hard at this one-- don't be surprised if it goes for more than 200$ ESPECAILLY IF THE REPLY IS GOOD AND HE ADDS THAT TO HIS LISTING ( HE HAS TWO OPTIONS ON THAT)+

oops cap locked again!! that is the most worthless key on my keyborard-- is there some way to disable it other than physically pulling it out ??

I will predict that you WILL see Mr 480 bidding on that M Kasio--and my spidey sense tell me that he does not use a sniper either.
I have seen him bidding before back when he was Mr 475--

lol

The one I wanted does have a pic of the bottom with that plate removed and the diode array is in place, that makes me 90% SURE THE DIODES ARE STILL IN IT.
