This kind of thing makes me *really* want to stop buying from them. But in the end I won't cause I'd have to pay a lot more elsewhere...

ebay has most of the same stuff for the same price. The manufacturer is probably the same, and you have more recourse on ebay than with DX.

Either DX is being ridiculous or some greedy guy wrote a script to take all the 200 coupons... :undecided:

And Wallbuys' 50% discount is starting in 30 minutes. I don't think the server's going to hold though.

Yeah it is. Had ~$200 in flashlights but couldn't check out. F*cking bastards. If they run a promo like this at least they can try to have extra server capacity for the event.

Leaves me feeling pissed off and never wanting to open their website again. I'm sure I'm not the only one, and I'm sure some of those errors were not just "errors". Was trying to check out repeatedly for the last ~8 minutes.

Seems like the whole promotion thing just backfired and pissed a lot of people off. :undecided:

I did manage to order some lights despite all the havoc.

Merry Christmas.

If that was their goal, they certainly succeeded with me, no doubt about that. Back to fasttech & cnq I got, good service, decent prices, and no crazy ass promos that don't work.

Sorry to hear that. :(

How popular is FastTech around LPF?

Haven't seen any reviews of the site, but from my personal experience and what others are saying at different forums, it's pretty good.

Edit: Haha, just saw your post at BLF, and boy, you do sound pissed. Merry Christmas!

I was very pissed a few minutes ago. Quite a few lights I really would have loved to have at that price. To get my hopes up, only to kill them with "errors" they can rest assured I won't ever go to the site again. Wallabuys can go on their merry to hell...

I've had good experiences with cnq, and with fasttech, I guess it remains to be seen, but I have two orders from them, one in the ~$30 range, the other in the $120 range... they have been responsive on both, so I expect it will just take a bit of time for shipping to actually take place. They have some nice well priced stuff.

Been doing that more and more lately, specially for electronic components.. the problem with Ebay (not Ebay's fault really) is that it's normal for international orders to take 2-3 months to arrive in Brazil, which ends up making us miss the safe period.

But yeah, I have about 20 orders of parts for my SSTC from Ebay and only 4 from DX. Hope they get here soon, can't wait to build the thing!

I hate dealextreme! They WILL try to screw you over if they get a chance. I am sure that was rigged just to get people to spend the $100 then not get the discount. I purchased a bunch of parts and stuff from dealextreme waited about a month and didn't recieve anything so I contacted them. They said bascially that Hong Kong post is slow (which it always seems to be) and told be to wait another 2 weeks and if my items still haven't come to contact them again. And they didn't come so I contacted them and they told me I should of contacted them sooner and that they pretty much weren't going to do anything, when THEY told me to wait 2 weeks. So I again responded to them with a lengthy email and its been about 3 months now and I have sent them a couple more emails and they have never responded to any of them. That's my Dealextreme rant...lol

I'm pissed with them as well but TBH this is the very first time I've heard of someone that purchased from them and didn't receive. I've purchased over 100 times there and have had DOA issues (that were properly replaced or refunded), out of spec items (that I left alone) and slow mail (3 months was the record, lately it's been mostly under a month).

These are great 0-35V 0-5A switching (substantially more efficient than linear) supplies for $50 shipped buy-it-now. There's also an output disable feature that allows you to set the voltage and current limit without applying power to the output terminals.

The one I have has a small spike on startup(or enable) in current mode, but like all other supplies there's absolutely no problem if you start from zero.
