No, you stick the disk in your CD player for some nice music while you meter your laser by plugging the LPM into your left ear, gives you a nice heads up display right inside your mind...

Joking of course, yes, USB into computer, logging software etc is on the disk ... sure there's a download for it too.


That looks to me like it could be a small CO2 laser, probably RF excited.

Thats a double brewster HeNe. Sam's sayeth it should be good for close to 5mW if well aligned.

What is it used for?

A long shot - it can be a spectrometer. One element is too colorful thus might be a grating. The configuration looks like a double Czerny-Turner spectrometer. (google for pictures)

Yeah,....probably no good. I have yet to see one of these in working shape sadly. most of them don't work anymore due to age.

Been eyeing up these for a while, anyone know if they are any good. Not looking for anything high end, just something fairly cheap and reasonably reliable.

For use in a pointer, the problem with this new OptLaser high power RGB white is the divergence is huge, it will just make a rake of light in the distance twice as bad as a NDG7475 1W 520nm green which is already bad enough. For my use, it needs expansion to be put in a pointer but I am not sure how well expanding three colors together will work out, can they be expanded and remain together in the far distance? I realize all RGB combined laser diodes will have that happen to their beams in the far far distance, but maybe expanding them makes it worse?

Been eyeing up these for a while, anyone know if they are any good. Not looking for anything high end, just something fairly cheap and reasonably reliable.

Diachi, that unit is nice looking and not very expensive, looks like a good unit for most of our needs.

Of course an Ssy-1 yag would come up 2 days before I drop the money for a 589nm Spartan.. Been keeping an eye out for a while now and see they usually go for 350 missing parts..

That's a discontinued LaserBee 2.5w USB.
Just so you know... the internal USB interface will
only work up to Win7....
If you plan to use it on a computer that is running a
Widows version under Win 8 that is a fair price....
Funny he does not ship to Canada..

Another laser gun, but this one blue, I contacted the seller to ask which diode to be sure it really is 465nm, waiting. I'm not interested in it myself but thought someone here might be. If I ever post a find on ebay here, of course, I'm not going after it. For this item, I wouldn't take it outside and handle it, not in the U S of America we live in today.
