Fasttech has a good and reasonably cheap selection of batts and AFAIK they're known for selling only geniune stuff. I get most of mine from there.

You are US right? If so, get Sanyo/Panasonic NCR18650GA 3500mAh. Shop owner is a well known guy at BLF (flashlight forum) so you know you'll be getting the real deal.
Also, for european buyers, check out http://www.nkon.nl (not affiliated with either, just wanted to share some reliable and cheap sellers)

Any opinion on these?

2x PANASONIC-SANYO NCR18650GA 3500mAh 3.7V Li-ion Rechargeable Battery

2X Panasonic Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh 3 7V Li ion Rechargeable Battery Japan | eBay

Looking closely at the ones I purchased, I can see a faint Sanyo stamp on them.

Far less risky than ebay.

I've purchased drivers from him before and they all work well for me, but this one is new.

I was searching for some AW 16340 batteries, and came across this site "vaporkings". They state that their AW's are authentic cells, and the 16340's which normally sell for $16.95 a pair, are on sale for $3.99 (a pair)! :D
A great price, if they're authentic AW's!

I see this: Cyonics Uniphase 2214 40MLA Argon Laser System | eBay. Is it a good deal or not? The seller said "I believe the 40 means 40mW but i have run it over 100mW with the remote at 8 amps. The beam is multiline (the MLA) in the designation. 5 lines at idle and at least seven at higher outputs. I have not run it for a year since i have no way to cool the tube."
I may call dibs if it's a good price. I don't know yet.

That's a good deal. Just needs a good blower to cool it. Assuming it starts. Might be a little tricky getting it to start if it's got lots of hours on it after sitting so long. But if it's fairly fresh I'd say it'll likely work.

Worst case scenario you get a controller, PSU and a some ML optics.

Well, just the psu and controller really... The optics are sealed to the tube. They're not really removable nor useful for anything else really. though I guess you could cut the mount off at the stem like a HeNe, careful not to break the tube, which would be a high class hazmat. Not really worth trying. I have several argon 488-515 HRs used in these tubes if anyone wants one anyway.

I have this model. It's 40mW rated. And does 6 lines standard. Though sometimes a few are "oops" tubes or custom tubes and do as much as 8 though.

What's low hours, less than 500hr? I asked him how new/old it was and he said it's October 1999. Where/how do you find how many hours?

You can't easily check it. you have to disassemble it to find out, which I doubt the seller will do for you. Typical tube pulls from service are at 5K-7K hours, max life is usually 10K assuming its run always at spec (40mW) or less. Every additional Amp greatly reduces its lifetime - mostly due to gas depletion and cathode damage from the extreme heat. If you get it it probably is fine, but after it starts you'd probably want to run it for a few good couple hour segments at 6-7A to help it pick itself up off the ground.
