Heh the tubes were gone within 12 hours of me posting this. I would still snag one of those PSUs. That's an excellent price and tubes pop up all the time.

So, just got my tube in the mail! :wave:

Here's a shot of both barcodes and the power rating. I'm still waiting on the power supply to arrive.

I got mine today too but have a stupid question. Which end is positive and which is negative? I don't want to guess and get it wrong because I know that can ruin a tube in minutes.

I believe this is correct:

Cathode = end with aluminum can = negative.
Anode = is the pure glass section = positive.

Sam's Laser FAQ on HeNe PSU wiring

Make sure your power supply is sufficiently ballasted with a suitable resistor near the anode.

Thanks for the link Bionic. I hunted around there for that info but somehow missed it. It turns out I was right with my guess on hooking it up but when I tried firing it up I didn't get anything. I've started a thread in the gas lasers forum.
