Are you considering buying this? What do you intend to drive it with? I have one and it is a good expander.
What are you going to put it on for a laser? You may need to machine an adapter.

As in my picture I have the 30x
I know how members are always looking for beam expander s and i am trying to help them get a good deal : )

but what he says is true you will need an machined adapter for a standard c mount or 1" 32 TPI

30x is a beast let me tell you but right now I am on the phone will melles griot as when cleaning the very small front optic it slipped out of my hand and cracked on the floor ..... i am willing to bet that was a 200$ mistake ......But on the + side when it was in connection with my rpl i had a divergence of .037 : ) but the rpl is sold and now i am moving on to bigger projects .... maybe a 1.5W hand held laser : )

I never brought up the tiny apperture on the input side of these !! They work best when the laser output can be focused going into the expander ....

My MG diverging input lenses are so small that only stepping on one would break it.

Yep the specs are best at 1mm but can accept up to 2.4 I believe but even then you lose quite a bit of laser light.... I am planning on frank making me a special 1.5W laser with a 1mm beam but 4 m rad divergence but then the expander would be almost permently mounted on it making a .13m rad divergent monster that’s focusable...... but it really sucks never break the optics as you have to go through so many hours of support and they still don’t know the product number on that input lens.

i got my 30x beam expander on e bay for 200$ .... you can trust e bay for optics maby not lasers but you can for genuine melles griot optics

and for my laser i am going to have to buy the 1.5W laser and make it portable i am buying another lab unit as i like the stability :p

Anyone know how you mount one of these onto something? I assume it is not universal.
