Thanx Jeff, I'll check on it. At present, a rubber band provides enuf tension for reliable laser operation. I've read that these yellow DPSS lasers have a reputation for ticklish, uneven operation, though mine has been quite steady, with a golden sunny yellow hue that I find to be the most cheerful pointer color. Good luck with your "new" laser. BTW, my yellow laser came from Austria--a few miles down the road from Schwartzenegger's shrine. Thanks, again.

Hey thanks!

The way I figure it. There's only a couple ways it could turn out to be a loss. Those all fall under the DOA category in a sense.

Sure the guy was probably not 100% truthful but the odds are in my favor for the most part and if you look at his items for sale/history he does sell a lot of lasers and doesn't have bad feedback.

His reputation is at question. While my craftsmanship is soon to be at work. (Maybe not?)

I didn't get the laser today so only time will tell the outcome.

I've archived our conversation and will be posting it here for further documentation when all is said and done.

Until then. Sit back, have a beer and relax!

Thanks!
Jeff

P.S.

Just in case anyone is curious. He is a member here in this forum under the same username. He's just not active.

Seriously? A $250 item is sent parcel post... I would have a witness and videotape the unpacking.

Yep. Planned on it. I'm willing to take this to the 45 day mark with PayPal. For now I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that it is in transit and a little delayed due to some of the recent storms and the time of year. If it doesn't arrive this week. The seller is going to get a nice little PM from me and perhaps I'll bring eBay into this.

If this goes down hill... I have a trick or two in my sleeve that may get his eBay account closed and I will probably get his PayPal closed as well.

Thanks for the pointers guys :)
