ILT Argon-Ion system $55 for now

According to the seller the plasma still glows but it has sat for ~3 years, so it probably needs a good bit of juice from an Oudin coil.

It's igniting the plasma. It's just not lasing. It could be mirror alignment. However, unless you are ready and willing to use it as a doorstop if it is not just alignment, pass on this one.

Also, I don't see an umbilical anywhere. If it doesn't come with that, you're stuck anyway AND you have to wonder why he is not showing/sending it or if he even has one to begin with

It is being sold as "not working or for parts." You buy it, you own it.

Right now, this one is a "hobby" NOT a laser

True, but realignment isn't impossible and it would give you a great sense of satisfaction to see it lase again, more so than anything else except maybe building the entire thing from scratch. :crackup:

Absolutely. The warnings are mostly about *IF* it is NOT mirror alignment. Even mirror re-alignment can be daunting.

Used gas lasers (especially "as is" from eBay) are ALWAYS a risk. This one is already showing problems. Unless one is ready and willing to accept the risk, my recommendation is still to pass on this one. I am. I already have an extra ILT PSU on hand
