Default goggle mystery

let me see. having trouble deciding on a couple pair of goggles. :-/

i am looking at getting some goggles for the blu-ray (~150mw) green (~120mw) *and red (+200mw) and that's it.
dont need them for bigger wattage lasers, etc. if i ever get a lase over 300 mw i will gladly spring for stronger glasses.

my concerns are can i get one pair of glasses that work for blu-ray and green? i have heard that orange works for both spectrums of bluray and green.

and what about IR? i have read that lasers IR filters may not be that good so dont i want my goggles to protect against IR as well?

and what about the OD and VLT? i want enough to block out harmful effects but i want to be able to see out of them too.
so if the od is too high doesnt that block out vision.
from the forums i have read, OD 3-4 is workable, but a higher OD is like wearing a real dark pair of shades?

so a pair of red goggles like these appear to work for bluray and green but do they protect against IR?
http://store.oemlasersystems.com/ind...roducts_id=420

and these are supposed to be for green lase, but would they work for bluray, but again what about IR?
http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/G...des-48-11.html

and then there is pair of multi-wavelength which looks like it work for the bluray/green and get the IR?
but they dont appear to work for red.

i would welcome suggestions for which goggles would suffice without overkill for my app.

thanks.
lf

Yea I need goggles too. I didn't want to spend over $60 total to cover everything (blu-ray, IR, red, and green), but it looks like it would cost more like $80-$90+. I was looking at the multi-wave, and I may buy that (I saw it before reading this post), but I would like more input from other members first. I haven't built my blu-ray and red yet, but I plan on building it as soon as I get the diodes themselves (just ordered a day or two ago). What would you laser experts suggest, cause I didn't plan on getting goggles at all before, but now I am getting a little nervous and feel like I should. I don't have too much money though, but if you all think its a good investment and that your eyesight is important, what goggles would you think are the best value?

alexi...
there is this post on diy goggles.
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/fo...num=1227482914

great idea but how "good" do they work. is it worth some eyesight?
be interested to hear your results if you make some.

For blue-green (Ok... 405 is more purple... w\e) I use these: http://www.novalasers.com/NOVAstore/...p;idproduct=35

They are the cheapest "sport" goggle option around for those wavelengths. Well laser glow has the same things, so you could buy from them too.
