Again, don't knock all DX lasers. The 50mW and down are fine performers and modestly priced.

Whn I finally go ~100mW I definitely would go NOVA.

My 20mw didn't last 3 days! New Wish Lasers are a Gamble at best.

3 days??? Wow are you serious? Man to think that DX takes like forever to ship and then you finally get it, and it goes poof in only 3 days. :-? :-?

I bought a 100mW DX and it's not a Newwish. It's was supposed to be a True Laser Pointer.
My 30mW is stamped www.Newwish on the Module inside. Lens has tiny specs of air inside.

Both my failed Lasers from DX "200mw & 20mw" have the same driver boards, and nether has New Wish stamped on them. I assumed they where, from the information about them posted on this forum.

The 2 greenies I killed were certainly etched newwish on the back face of the module where the cicuit board is stuck down (the glue hides it quite well, I only noticed when I took one apart)

I found out how to make DX work.
Use a (anonymous) proxy.
Go to www . youhide . com and put in DX address. It works!
Dunno whats up with regular DX though.

i asked someone from the USA if it was working for them, and it was, but simultaneously, not for me.
i think it's the 'free shipping' tag ...
it's free to the USA and not anywhere else (i noticed both people who've complained about it have are from australia - and i am too.) blocking access from australian sites limits our ability to buy things.

Shipping is free to the UK as well....Is that why I have no problem getting on to the site?

Well all this talk about DX lasers scares me. ;D No lol j/k but I do not think I would want to risk the chance of getting one and then it goes to garbage in a day or two. That just my opinion though. :)

Shipping is free worldwide. The problem is the DX server is too slow for communication to Australia. Essentially.
The issue is just with the particular communication between a particular american ISP and Australia.

I have a DX30 that I carry around from time to time.  The only problem it has is a very short duty cycle.  But other than that, it gives me a super-thin bright green beam.  It just likes to be cool.

I'm sorry you had bad luck with your DX20.  :(

dealextreme is V/slow at the moment - but it might be the anon. proxy i'm using - i don't think it's a time out thing so much as a 'block international IP addresses' thing... using an anonymous proxy seems to get around it. The only one that seems to work for me is 168.216.72.125:8080 and still you have to wait about 20-30 seconds for it to 'wake up' and push the data through...
