This thread is to be dedicated to the best deal you can find on these projectors. Many of us buy these and I think it would be helpful for all of us to post the best deals we can find. Best buy had a $699 deal on the 27th. Regrettably I missed it. That is what spawned this idea. Currently there is:

Newegg.com for $769.99 shipped
For those in CA who don't want to pay the sales tax there is
Casio XJ-A130 Digital Multimedia Projector XJ-A130 - B&H Photo
Add to cart and price is $770.

Also bing had like 10% cashback on newegg not long ago. You may still be able to find cashback for eBay as well.

I think the newegg cashback is done now for Bing.

I used FatWallet to get like 2% cashback on newegg.

thanks,
Kendall

It looks to me like BestBuy still has them for $699.

Casio - Green Slim XGA DLP Projector - White - XJ-A130

If you choose the in-store pickup option when ordering, you will pay no shipping fees.

Here in Virginia with 5% sales tax, it comes to $734.99.

Plus they have some sort of "Reward Zone" system where you can earn points, which I think can be used for discounts on subsequent purchases.

Newegg is having a 10% off every Casio projector deal this week. Use the code EMCYXYP33.

Well, if you guys want a little more cash back, there is a site known as Ebates.com which I personally have used for a while now before bing cashback was around. They have tons of stores just like bing cashback. The only downside is that there percentages are just a little lower. For example, Newegg is currently 1.5% (though percentages DO change now and then, and there is a daily double percentage on different websites).

If you sign up though, please use my referal link. Both you AND I will get $5 from it.

Coupons, Promo Codes and Cash Back Savings - Ebates.com

Edit: Additionally, there IS another site I use, but it has even less cashback for Newegg (1%). However, this site also has Ebay (which I don't know of any other referral places including besides Bing which is no longer out there) - but again, Ebay is only 2% whereas Bing was 8%. This site also gives you a $5 bonus for signing up. However, with this site as well, please use my referral link here:

also Fatwallet has 4% back on buy.com, which has a cheap deal on the XJ A130

I'm confused on something. How are the diodes being sold at $50 if the projectors are $770?
Is there a supplier for the diodes alone?
I'm just wondering because i know people have been buying the projectors, so i don't see how they are not losing money off them if they cost >$700 ea.

not all of us make that much, but i will soon be buying hopefully 10 xj-a140 projectors so i will have a stock of 240 on hand. once i get that i am going to try to obtain lots of reds then blues and once my lathe and mill arrive i will be making heatsinks for some hosts.
i am so excited i just hope these prices will last or come back before stock runs out....

hopefully someone buys all the leftover projector casing and parts after you're done harvesting the diodes..... if not there must be some big piles of useless projectors somewhere...

So many people have torn apart these projectors for the diodes that I have no doubt there is a massive stock pile of spare parts for these projectors somewhere lol.
