Thats a pretty basic host(ebay'ish) you'd be better off getting a 12/13mm module and pressing it into a host of your choice, might even be cheaper.

I do have no idea of building lasers or i dont have any tool to do that. I know how to solder but i do have no idea. Also this will be my first laser instead of a 5mw one i owned for before

It seemed ok to me and i made the order. Im waiting for the payment request for paypal from susie. Will let you know after i successfully place my order. I did also added googles dont you guys worry about that :) i didnt search for quality googles as im buying 200mw laser. Red laser safety goggles/590-780nm protective goggles $14.99. It says like this. I can send link if wanted. I will let you know what will happen. Should this thread be moved to another category or i should try to delete this and open another thread?

If you want a good burner in a small package, The BDR-209 diode is probably the best burning single mode diode you can get at the moment. My >300mw 650nm (red) does ok. But for brightness, go with a green laser. My 80mw 520nm (green) is way brighter then my 650!

Im into burning lasers but i didnt wanted to pay much for a 1-2 watts of blue or violet laser. Instead i did want to buy something with less power(less dangerous)that can still do some simple burning. maybe in the future i can buy a blue or green to extend my collection :D(i dont have a collection yet) maybe i start to build myself

If you do want to try to build one yourself, start with an easier build. Like a 501b host. You can get all the parts needed for one of those, and not have to worry about finding a grounding location and so forth. There are a ton of other good hosts too. But for cost and ease of build, the 501b is a great starter.

I do know to solder but i do have no idea about building lasers. Is it easy to get ALL parts for 501?

With some searching through the forum, I was able to find links to sources for everything needed. If you want to eventually try to build one yourself, just take your time and do the research to familiarize yourself with the basic components needed, and any tips you can find about working with diodes without killing them (i.e. fast soldering methods, as not to heat kill one. Or ESD protection to prevent killing one from static discharge.).
When I joined this forum, I didn't know anything about building a laser either. But with the researching and patience, I've completed a few builds now. :yh:
