Found a diode that has decent beam specs (8, 20), runs at temps up to 50C, at 642nm, and is affordable ($35)

60mw of 642 should look roughly like 175mw of 660. Of course, there is always the possibility that they could do more than their rated 60mw.

The glitch? It's a 3.8mm package size. Thoughts?

interesting! I think jayrob or flaminpyro or someone has made some modules for 3.8mm diodes in the past, or you could probably just arctic silver it to a standart aixiz module

Yes I have made some copper modules for the 3.8 diodes but I think they were 650nm wow a whole 8nm away :crackup:
