Yeah standard AAA's. Keep in mind that they're case positive so positive goes towards the tailcap and negative goes towards the Diode

That's the way I had originally tried it. I've tried every combination and I'm still not getting anything. Is there a way of taking this apart and seeing if something is clearly wrong? Batteries aren't an issue, they're brand new Duracell's and I've tried two different pairs.

Is it possible the contact at the tail of the pointer isn't touching the batteries, completing the circuit?

This is with 2xAAA?

For the strongest one out of these three..

76mW with cheap China "Goldstar" 2xAAA batts
82mW with expensive "Energizer Advanced Lithium" 2xAAA batts
88mW with 1x 10440 (3.74V) and 1x Dummy battery

With a standard reading lense and the right focus, the laser is able to ignite a blue-colored match within 1sec.

That is so good. Mine only went to 45mW :(

But remember that I payed $0.01 more each :D

Yes it is very possible. Some of these in the past haven't made good contact at the tail end. Try adding a button magnet, that usually will help.

Check it by using a wire to complete the circuit and see if it works then.

I should sell this one as highest powered 5mW 532nm laser :p

I think it was $5.40. Only 23mW IR in the output.

No this one is NOT from the seller this thread is about.

Damn!
How long did shipping take on average to the EU for you?
When i ordered it didn't give me any idea of how long it takes, only that it's shipped haha.

Combining 4 pens and you have a 500mW green laser for less than 20 bucks !!

I wonder if they can die from overheating or that they just lose power.

I think DJNY touched on an important subject in regards to these pens. For the 532's, do they come with an IR filter? If not, I wonder how much of the overspec is occuring due to IR.

Wow. I ordered one 405 pen a week or so ago to replace the one I bought from IQS awhile ago that seems to have fallen off the planet. IIRC that one metered at 45-47mw depending on batteries so if this one is 45 or higher I'll be happy. Tempted to go order one of the 532 pens as well. I'm honestly not a huge fan of 532 but my pen (also from IQS) sucks which is too bad because his other greens were great. Hopefully it'll be here next week since according to my PP receipt it shows it was shipped on the 13th.

I ordered a couple 532s a few weeks ago and they came in in only 12 days. I don't have a LPM, but both are noticeably brighter than a 30mW 532 I have, and one is probably above 50mW. Looking forward to seeing actual readings from other people. Definitely a good deal!
