wow, looks much nicer than my ScanPro 20K set, I really like the included keyswitch - but as far as actual performance I haven't the foggiest idea :-/

Maybe search for some reviews on photonlexicon?

I did think that but it has no manufacturers name or manuals so I wouldn't know whre to start.

doesnt sound bad at all.

Can anyone confirm the quality on this? I can either get this for $334 AU, or a scanpro20 for $295 AU.

Cheers

Looks like one of us will have to take the leap...I was also debating the ScanPro vs some other more "generic" models like this one.

I would myself but I would rather complete my current build before I start another.

I'd like to get one, however, I don't have a slightest clue how to use one, so any information I could provide would probably be useless  ;D

Plus, not sure I want to spend the ~$240 for the kit, right now.

Long story short all you have to do is connect it all up with the cables provided, add mains power and point a laser at the galvos and bam!

Obviously its more complicated when it comes to mounting them inside enclosures when you then have to mount all the parts, align the laser (remembering TTL/analouge need to be connected) and thats it really, turn it on and boom.

I see you two trying to push me into it  ;)

Yeah, I figured it would be pretty simple to hook up, however I know nothing about the interface and how to get it running patterns and/or add my own.  Right now, I only have a green laser with TTL capability, one of those "50mW" Aixiz pieces from Ebay, which I could try out.  I am looking to make up some small TTL drivers, basically the same as the Die4Drive, but since the guy doesn't seem to make them anymore, I was just going to make some myself for a red and blu-ray.... make me a white(-ish) projector  :D

EDIT:
Oh, and I just realized that although their prices are set to USD, the shipping is defaulted at Australia... looks like shipping will be at least $45 to go with a traceable method. Still $258 is a good deal on this.

Well you have a few options with this scanner. From what I can see it has a built in DMX show, which basically cycles through all effects that have been pre programmed. ILDA would be more complicated as you need to buy a DAC and the software to control it.

The scanner also seams to have a mic so you should just be able to flick a switch and, assuming your music is loud enough, it will create its own show in time with the beat of the music. I have noticed that the effects it uses for that are the same effects that are pre programmed.
