It's a module with built-in TEC that allows tuning the wavelength, but i doubt it'll go as far as 808 nm while operating at safe temperatures under full power.

Who cares if it is 800nm vs 808nm? They are both invisible right?? I don't get why the 8nm makes a difference.

it does if you wanted it for pumping crystals for a green laser, they can be very picky about the input wavelength and 800 nm defintely would not work

Ohh, I undestand, I forgot about that frequency doubling stuff. Is it possible to do that to the 800-808IR beam without amplification so I could get a 400-404nm laser?

from what I remember reading while frequency doublers work with most wavelengths the gain is horrible. It works most efficiently at doubling 1064nm to 532nm which is why it is used in green lasers, whereas trying to double 808nm may only get you 1/20000th of the pump input

Nice, thanks for the info. I am still learning so all help is much appreciated as well as the quick response.
