Actual dot pictures would be helpful. You can use a polarized lens like those you get at a 3d movie to dim the beams some, it may make it easier to tell them apart if they are all the same brightness.

You would be able to tell the difference though, 635 to 660 is a big leap.

Here is the best i can do for you.:) I wish i had something like what you speak of because i think it would have helped with the glare. My Cameras are not good at taking dots. So i took pictures and a Video.:D

From Left to Right:
635nm , 638nm? , 658nm

From Left to Right:

On the Next 2 pictures from Left to Right

658nm , 638nm?

All the same lasers as before.:)

Hope that helps.

That's definitely 660.

I just hope the 200's and 500's turn out to be 638, even if they aren't 'usable' as far as beam specs. At least they'll still be 'interesting' anyway.

Im sending 1 of the diodes i have here out tomorrow to Cyparagon.

Then when my other 2 come ill send those over to him too. Which are the 50mW and 80mW ones.

Then one iam going to keep iam going to push it right now till it dies. I wan to see what these can put out.

I can say 1 thing though. The dot is Amazing.:) Un like an other red laser i seen. These dont have wings.:)

Hang on something looks different in the last picture. It's not noticeable at first but you'll see. It looks lower than 660. 648-650?

^ You wont be able to pick up that difference from a camera. Well i dont think you can. Its just the angle i took the picture.

I am still curious where these came from. Although they may not be what we were looking for it would be nice to know what kind of products to look out for that may contain high power reds.

These are 658....

At least the ones in the pics anyway. These are within at least 5nm of the LOC's they're compared to.

Does anyone with one of these diodes in hand have a diffraction grating?

I don't think that's necessary. I know a 632.8nm HeNe looks drastically different than 660... If these were anywhere below 645, it'd be distinctly noticeable, especially side by side with a 660.

Agreed. Now the question is, what are we going to do with him and these diodes? Personally, I don't want them if they're not 638. If he gives me a hard time about getting a refund, negative feedback I will leave.

He issued me a refund and cancelled the auction.

However, he did tell me the pinout was the same as this auction.

New 100mW 405nm Blue-Violet blu-ray Laser Diode | eBay

Hmm?

Lazerer, you said this is the pinout you used?

For the 200mW diodes, my seller said use this configuration.

Which is typical 405 configuration.

Which seller is this? Though this only rules out the 100mw diodes I believe, unless lazeerer tested his 120 that had the optic on the front as well? There is still hope.. albeit slim, for the higher and lower power diodes being 638, even if they have crappy beam specs. Least the wavelength itself will be interesting.

Ah. Same seller I got both my batches of 200mW and 500mW ones from then.
