Woke up to a PM saying someone was buying, I believe 5 of these, and I'd be getting at least one for testing. I think he might be looking for more than 1 independent test, which IMO is a good idea. Not sure if he wants to be named or stay as the "secret santa" of LPF :beer:

He obviously was browsing this thread and that's how he came to me for testing. Might also be since I have a G2 and G9 lens.

I see you have a G2 but what about the G9?

Greetings,

Was curious what the focal length of the G2 is ?? Is it 4mm ?? I can get lenses with focal length of 4.02mm, 6mm diameter for about $15 that as far as I can tell are identical to the ones removed from the 9mm diodes.

I supposedly have one on the way from a donnor but I totally dorgot about it. Hasnt arrived yet obviously or it'd be tested by now.

Noi rush. I actually forgot about these little buggers. Now ill make a note to remind myself so I don't go to the mail and be like wtf is this lol

I'm hoping these are actually 98% transmission as it says in the description.
That would make them as good (transmission wise) as the g2 right?

We will see I suppose :)

I think they're even shorter, like 2-3mm or less. That's the real reason they have such high transmission. The short focal length means that more light is captured at that lens diameter. It's also why the beam looks so crappy (no cut off edges).

Just a tip: I've experienced relatively good results with 17track.net. Probably known to others tracking their packages from Asia (China/Hong Kong/Singapore/Malaysia mostly etc.).
