Just thought I'd post this, I don't know much about high powered IR lasers but I came across this whilst browsing ebay and seemed like a good deal for a very nice laser.

Coherent PulseLife Laser Diode array 808nm's Hi Power on eBay (end time 23-Apr-10 07:10:02 BST)

It was originally a 80-100W 808nm diode array, but half is broken, but the other side seems to be working fine so it should output around 40-50W, it's got hardly any hours on it as well according too the listing.

The coherent details can be found here:

Coherent Inc. : Horizontal Arrays

And it can be cooled using tap water which is pretty cool.

I would buy it, but I can't spare the £60 atm, someone with some time and patience and some knowledge might be able to get the other side working as well?

Someone please point out if this is a bad deal, I'm not sure but it seemed reasonable too me.

Never seen that style of diode bar, it's pretty neat.

Still though it's pretty damaged, I don't know that I'd want to pay $100 for something that's half broken. He said he only got it to the threshold so who knows if the half that still lights up even lases correctly.

If anyone is looking for something like this, I've still got a perfectly good 60 watt lensed diode bar for sale at $175, no dead emitters.

I think those emiters aren't totally dead, I think there are only bent microwires (if I see good) so someone might be able to fix it
but, 40-50W is still good :lasergun:
