x75... questions first impressions

hey gys i just got my x75 in the mail average - 83.6 max 94.6

i put engergizer e2 litium in and havent used it much so the bats arent low but im kind of disapointed in its balloon popping abilities.. it strugles to pop a balloon even with a sharpied spot on it and it wont do one any furture than 5 feet away.. the beam is bright and goes far at night and all but this being 150 and i also picked up a ledshoppe cheap 50mw there isnt much differnce and that was only 23 bucks with free shipping.. i could have had like 6 of the ledshoppe ones for the same price. the x75 smokes black fake leather chair up close and all but it doesnt seem to want to do much else.. is it just me or is this normal?

That's normal for a 75mw laser. The other 50mw you have might be overpowered and could easily be putting out 70mw or more of green + IR.

Will using differmt bats change anything? Cause the e2/s are good and all but I have some good 1000mah bats with my xmods and some others that hold a constant good flow of current most of the time think they will perform better?

You can try the different batteries. Also you should try focusing the beam with a lens if you want better burning power.

I don't think the batteries will work, E2s are the best I've ever used. You should have at least 95mW if you want to burn things easily.

As coherent said, the 50mW is probably putting out a lot of IR, which you should be careful with. It would cut down on the power, but you should really get an IR filter for it... Green laser safety goggles don't protect against IR. :-/

In my opinion the IR is really not a big deal. With those few mW's of IR, the damage would be A LOT less than the green. If you want more power try 1x 10440 plus spacer.

The problem with the IR is that green safety goggles don't protect against it and you can damage your eyes without any warning.
