So I'm buying from Nova, and I was considering the x125, which is $120 more than the x105. I heard the x105 averages 115mW output, so is it really worth the extra 120 bucks (and undefined wait time, its out of stock) for the x125? Is there going to be an obvious difference between visibility/burning? Or should I just go for the x105

I'm stoked about this laser, I can't wait to get it so i can start on some of the projects I've seen posted around!

u can always give nova an email to see how long approx the wait time is for the x125
if you're impatient like most of us, go with the x105
you won't really be able to tell the difference between the x105/x125 without a laser meter

I say go with the x105 your not going to really notice a differnce and you save 120 dollors that can go to the case laser goggles tnt shipping and some optics or something, im sure both burn about the same, the x125 might just do it slightly faster.

Yea, i'm pretty impatient i think i'll go with the x105. its my first laser, not like it has to be the best. and anyway, nova sells that meniscus lens that focuses the beam.

hell yea, can't wait until this thing comes.

Thanks man, the beam divergence thing is interesting.

If you let Nova know about this would they take care of it?

Ordered my x105 today! I also got the optics set and some crystals.

I emailed nova with some questions, and their customer service is fantastic.

I have an X105 too and I have no doubt you will be amazed with it. Please definitely report back after you receive it with the specs and all. The first time I pressed the button on mine my jaw dropped... ;D

i placed my order for the x125 ( case and membership package.. $351 shipped after discount code ) very early friday morning (dec. 14th) and emailed nova about the ETA of it being out of stock. they initially replied that they are confident that they would be able to ship that same day. got an email from magdalena later saying that they weren't able to get it shipped, due to testing of the unit, but it will be shipped on monday the 17th. ( i chose the $20 Xpresspost Airmail option ). i hope to get it by friday the 21st.

this will be my first high powered laser. i based my decision on comments on this forum.

Sam...welcome to the Nova club... ;D Hope you get it by the 21st. and will be looking forward to your comments.

I did the same...ordered an X105 based on the comments here and it is my first greenie. I absolutely love it. The first time I turned it on my jaw dropped.. ;D It is extremely bright.

You will need goggles especially if you plan to do anything close up like burning or even popping baboons.
