...when my brand-new DX30 arrived in the mail today.  It's plenty bright in the office lighting here and stings sharpied skin in a few seconds.  I'll tried the lensed leather smoke at home tonight (my AN 40mW does that easily, and sometimes unlensed after warm-up).

Unlike some others I've read in the reviews the button feels nice and solid - smooth click action.  In fact, the whole thing is solid and a bit heavy.  The heft is not a problem though, I like it.

I'd have to say this thing is putting out the advertised 30mW (yes I won't know for sure till I meter it) green.  Well worth the $26.  I am impressed overall.  Now if only their hi-po lasers were a bit better...  ;)

SWEET ! Glad you got it okay....for some reason, I always worry when folks say they order one...dunno why, but it seems like DX had been targetted for a while with customs for some reason....They are rather nice, though - I like the heavy feel of them, too !

I did notice the laser does not like the heat.  I took it out into the Florida heat and sun for some longer distance pointing (shaded and in full sun), and when I brought it back it the laser was noticeably dimmer.  After a few minutes' cooldown in the office, the laser worked just as well as when I first put the batts in.

if it stings it's better than 30mw... maybe 50+
put some lithiums in it, my dx200 really comes alive with lithiums.

Aseras - Nah, it's not a freak. Only if I sharpie my skin will it sting. It behaves much like my 40mW AN greenie.

Compared to the AN, the beam is slightly narrower at aperture, but diverges a bit more. The projected dot is only slightly less bright than the AN, as expected. I'm rather sure that this thing's in spec, though.

SenKat - I was a bit nervous, too. But it took less than 2 weeks from order to receipt. Not bad at all. With recent events, I might have to limit myself to DX greenies for a while.

Hi, I ordered my dx 30 laser for 15 days ago and it got shipped from hongkong at thursday, I live in Sweden so i believe it will take a bit longer than to the US, anyone can guess when i will get it? ;)
The long waiting almost makes it more fun to get it later, ALMOST.

Haha... things are always more fun when they involve lasers... ;)

The waiting... that will get better once you have it with you :p

I'm also very happy to hear that another DX has come in spec and is actually that great. When you say the button is good... here's what we were talking about. Does it seem to wiggle a bit, or sometimes feel like it's clicking (noise, feel) more that others? Did you get the True green or the regular? Also could you post pictures of it please? If it's actually better then I'd have to congratulate them on their choice of new button as that is great news! :D

Thanx;

The button wiggles a little, but not too bad.  The feedback from it is solid; it makes a nice click.  The power fluctuates a bit, but I have yet to figure out if it's the switch or just the unit heating up.  My DX30 needs frequent breaks.  Considering what I paid for it I'd have to expect this so it's not a problem, IMHO.

I got the 30mW true green.  I'll have to get the camera to take pics of it.

That sounds pretty promising considering their buttons are the only down side to their lasers so far :D

It is indeed promising, as I have verified the switch wasn't the problem.  My DX30 just requires good batteries, like fresh liths or fresh name-brand NiMH's (I have cheaper ones and they don't work as well as my Energizers).  The unit gets a bit warm after a while and it loses power, which simply tells me to shut the thing off and let it cool.

Overall, great value for the money.  :)

Took out my DX30 with fresh NiMH's this morning.  I pointed it at my wallet and smoke poured from it almost immediately.

No lens.

Schweet.
