Hi,

I just received my Spyder III 100mW laser today and am just waiting for the batteries to charge up before I take some pictures of it.

The chart provided by WL shows it's power at about 135mW.
This item is a bit longer than expected but feels quite solid.
I will provide pictures shortly.

The Spyder III's are a bit long but look like a light saber so nice.:)
Steve is still working on my review 500. Should be a killer!

My batteries are almost fully charged so should not be much longer.

The manual with the laser did not have battery install guide for the Spyder series, I had to look in the laser housing to confirm how to install the battery.
It goes in NEGATIVE, with POSITIVE at the end cap.

The packaging is identical to that posted by a user here for the Spyder I review, however the lock pin issue that he had appears to have been resolved.
Mine removes and installs with no problem.

Yes, I'm pretty sure all green and violet lasers have positive towards the tail, but idk. Alas, congrats, still can't wait to see it.

I found that it took quite some time to charge the batteries with the supplied charger, but the good news is that they were not hot when I removed them.

The glasses provided are better than the ones shown on their website. They look like my safety glasses except for the red tint.

I did notice when I was burning items that the laser appeared to have a power glitch as the laser dot shape changed to a wider dot briefly (for about 2 seconds) then went back to normal size. This happened after beam was on for roughly 45 seconds, but I have not been able to duplicate it.

So far I have burned electrical tape, paper bags, 3.5" floppys, and some other stuff.
I have not tried matches because I do not have any, but will get some and try.
The burn range seems to max out at about 12 feet.

Yes, it looks awesome when pointed to the sky (no planes in area used for sky test).

Mode hopping... not a good thing. Was it hot. Were the batteries fully charged?

The batteries might not have been at full charge at the time, even though the battery power indicator on the laser showed them as full.

This laser does not get hot. The host is a massive heatsink.
