I'm considering purchasing the E2 100mW 532nm laser from WL. The E3 uses AAA while the E2 uses AA so I prefer the E2.
Has anyone bought any of these from WL recently that can tell if it's worth it ?
I know I could buy from O-like or rayfoss but I really like the hosts that WL sell.

I'd order from some one this site for reliability versus a cool look.

plus people here are usually generous if something goes wrong and you can talk to the people who built the laser..

I have never bought from them but WL is said to have one of the worst reputations of any laser based company.
A LOT of people ordered from them months ago and can't even get their emails answered let alone get their lasers shipped.
I'd advise you go somewhere else for your needs.
As Lasers and Masers said, there are many people from the forum selling laser components and a couple even sell completed lasers.
Go to the buy and sell part of the forum, I'm sure you will find something ;)

You have to carefully sift all the posts about Steve and WL and make up your own mind.

I avoided all the old hate posts about him and found much later, when he contacted me, that he seems to be a business man who I can work with.
I reviewed a Super portable 532 and pointed out a simple design flaw and he paid me with an EvoPro 130 for my efforts. That laser has the tightest beam I've seen yet.

The Arctic G1 I purchased appears to be an average production unit with which I have no problems. It works every time I push the button.

Remember the old saying: "If someone gets good service, he will tell a couple friends. If he gets bad service, He will tell everyone."

I hope this helps and I'm not trying to start a war here but that is my personal experience.

Yes I have read several threads where people talk about a huge delay on arctic delivery from WL, but I have never seen anyone complaining on the delivery of a E2 or E3.

The E3 has not and will not be available until the 15th supposedly. I plan on buying an E3 when/if they come in stock.

Yeah that's tomorrow :yh:
It uses AAA's though instead of AA's. Any idea why ? Aren't AA's supposedly better batteries overall?

I ordered an Arctic Spider III on June 14th, and it took until October for it to arrive, after I opted to wait for the smart switch, but it did arrive, and I did have several email communications with them. That being said, they missed several promised ship dates, which lead to some frustration, but in the end, I am happy with my laser, and I am pleased that I waited for the smart switch. I like having the safety of knowing that no one but me can activate it easily, and it has operated without flaws since I got it.

If you can wait out their shipping times, it should be fine. I know some folks on the west coast had issues with customs, but mine came in through JFK, and had no problems at all.

I purchased the E3 laser from WL about a week ago. This will be my first higher powered green laser. I have had several of the cheaper green lasers in the past and decided to get one of these. After reading all the reviews it seems like the biggest issue with WL products is shipping time. I can handle this if the laser is as advertised. I asked when it would ship and someone promptly replied with Dec. 19th. So it will take a while to get the laser... I too was concerned with the 2, aaa batteries. Is there a viable replacement that will fit the application?

Besides slow or non delivery from Wicked Lasers I can't imagine if you received a bad unit or had one that stopped working. There is no practical way of communicating with them. Their impressive web site & advertising is a great draw for newcomers to purchase a first higher power laser pointer. The problem seems to appear after you hit the Pay button!

Arctics aside, WL has really good quality. I love my Evo 130mW. Really nice beam specs. Shipping ATM will take a while but I think it will be worth it.

I would not order one if you live in the US, WL is on the confiscate list and a lot of their shipments are being taken by customs or FDA. The west coast is the worst.
