I got an e-mail from NOVAlasers today saying that the only laser pointers they have that are >5 mW and FDA approved is their Alpha series. I couldn't help but notice that this series of lasers is downright fucking expensive.

I live in the US, so any laser over 5 mW that isn't FDA approved is illegal.

Where can I buy an FDA approved 30 mW green laser pointer for around $100 bucks or less?

Also, I am not going to buy from O-like. I am not going to explain why since I have already stated my reasons in previous topics.

Laserglow Aries. But it's also "downright fucking expensive."

::)
Take it easy with the language.

If you read, you will find that ALL >5mW lasers are ILLEGAL TO IMPORT into the United States unless they are FDA approved with the necessary safety features.

This does not meant they are illegal to own.

Nova guarantees delivery of all their lasers or they will send another one.

And if you want to get a quality laser, you have to be prepared to spend the cash.

The X-15 is good, however, I have known customs to charge people 50$ for ordering an X before...
Don't get the X-25. They are overspec, so I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be more than 30mW, and dangerous to look at.

In that case, where can I buy a 30 mW green laser pointer from a company inside the United States?

Meeting FDA security requirements does in itself have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the laser - it's just lockouts, shutters and keys, all components that have absolutely no relation to the performance of the laser.

I don't belive their is one... Just look around the B/S/T section, you'll find somebody selling one eventually. Even Nova is in Canada.

You might want to check out this GB.

Sure thing. ;D Looks like one of the best deals around, considering it's guaranteed output.

You can buy cheap pointers from www.optotronics.com and they're located in the USA so no customs problem.
