hello..... i have a stupid question.... but i think it is important for someone.
by some months... some 1xAAA green laser pen entered in the market, i've heard that they've a driver booster...to bring 1.5v to 3v or 3.6v.

...but did someone try to use a nimh 1.2volt battery? how does it work?does the boost driver accept 1.2v to bring it 3v?

but now....the most important question for which i opened this thread....
can we put inside the laser a 10440 lion battery at 3.6v (4.2peak) ???

i am not an electronic expert...and i don't know how does work potentiometer and circuit booster.... but.. if he just receive 3.6v.....what can to it? does he boost NOTHING....?..
or he try to boost 3.6v to a upper voltage and broke it all? in my stupid opinion i thought that there is no problem.. because he does NOT NEED to boost voltage... so he does boost NOTHING...

i wait for a most skilled member respose ....:)

Some of this type of driver are Buck/Boost and some are Boost only. It depends on the particular circuit whether a boost only will still regulate at the higher voltage.
You can try your regulated power supply and slowly bring up the voltage to see if the driver goes out of regulation. I hope you have a PS with a fine voltage adjust knob!

My guess is that little circuit will propably overload from the excessive voltage OR simply
boost it as normal, killing the diode instantly. My feeling is that such a simple driver
wouldn't regulate up to 3V.
