I agree, but....
It's a select few in the United States government that decide who or what "needs" to be invaded, NOT the USA (and in referring to the "USA", I mean average folk like myself).
...Such is the nature of governments, good and/or bad...

There is a difference in being Uber vigilant and invading the country from where the attacks originated.
That's like a couple of idiots going to iraq and blowing up a building, and then Iraq invading the USA. Makes sense? Of course not

we are laser hobbist...some more than others obviously.
Even an off attempt such as animation of lazing a plane gives the anti-laser crowd more ammo to put the kibosh on us. This is not just "sorry take it easy".
This is why we have to be somewhat severe on this behavior to; weed out and set an example, that as the largest forum on laser pointers we won't tolerate this behavior.
as far as 911 and the timing of this thread... carefully what you post... this forum is filled with scientist, civil servants all types that take thing seriously.
say what you want, just don't cry about the backlash
Also if your non-American and don't think like an American should... then please keep your comments on 9/11 to yourself...just be glad that your country didn't hide terrorist training camps..

What would have happened if we just let the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor & did nothing ? Or let Hitler continue to have his way & did nothing, same scenario.

Hmm.. different scenario if you ask me - one enemy are a bunch of lunatics that cowardly pick a few idiots to run suicide attacks, the other were states with well equipped armies, millions of trained soldiers, and intention to invade and conquer.
Still it would probably be best to avoid creating any link between lasers and plane crashes - if we're not careful anyone owning a laser will be considered a terrorist.

ALL of this should be in Off-Topic... Damn it, an animation of a plane crash caused by a laser is refered to 9/11... What is wrong with you people? I made it for fun to show what could happen and then a HUGE argument has begun over a little animation. I can't believe this. SHAME ON YOU! Rather just close this thread right now. The fact that I still live in Canada, I DO respect 9/11. BUT not EVERY plane crash is caused by some crazed terrorist, It might be an engine failure, air crash collision Etc. This is disappointing. I'll just leave this forum and come back when everyone stop changing subject. Good day everyone and good bye. This thread can be closed nao.
