What do you think about this laser 200mw ?

hey that is the same as the 5mw newwish that i got from dx. i was hopeing they went higher than 10mw. i might have to get one of these.two bad they dont go any higher. the weird thing about the 5mw one that i have is that it has another set of wire that go to a mirror or something that measures the light i think. i will have post some pics some time to get the expert opinion of what that is. thanks for the find.

Yea, I'd much rather buy from DX also.
KD says still "collecting from supplier" or something like that...so no ship for me yet either.
I was already going to sell my 200mW DX pointer but I guess I'll wait to see what this new one is all about before I sell my other one. I know it will burn and cut!

I've ordered a 50mW,
hopefully the quality is good.

The two wires, that go from the board into the barrel are connected to a photo diode, which gets light reflected into it from an angled IR filter.

At least one (or more) of these new models have the same thing, as can be seen in the pics. The ones that have it, could actually be regulating the green itself, to keep it constant. But that might not be possible with higher powers, where the green output varies greatly with temperature.

I guess we'll see.



The new 50mW could be a higher quality alternative to the KD50 (EDWINA) laser. The build is definatelly higher quality in the entire series. I think the EDWINA is a no-name copy of New Wish design.

I just checked my KD account, and my 200mW NewWish laser says "shipped"! Finaly!

The two 50mW are still "waiting for supplier" tho.. Oh well, they are not for me anyway.

WOW ! I checked also and I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw "shipped" !

Cool! They should be here soon. Too bad it doesn't say when it was shipped, nor provide a tracking number...


Correction.. There is a tracking number, just no link. Tracking shows mine must have been shipped yesterday, as the number does not even work yet.

I just got this laser today..

I wrote my initial tests in Razako's thread about the same laser. It is not perfect, but it's not horrible either. Just underpowered.
