What is the best green laser I can get for under $30

Most of them are at least 30-50mW
WOW, so our government says " No imported personal/hobby lasers over 5mw" China says " No problem we will comply and only sell 5mw lasers". And all they actually do is title their sale pages 5mw, maybe label the pointer 5mw, but in truth they follow their own set of rules..... Bold.

Mhm.
Think about it this way if you will :beer:
These "cheap-companies" are in China. What do they care if their lasers are over-spec and dangerous? All they want is to make a profit and if all they need to do is label them as "5mW" to make them eligible to be sold in the US then they will do that without even thinking.
All that matters to them is $$$$

If your on a budget go Ebay. They're decent and cheap. Then once you have enough experience with lasers to appreciate quality, then you can buy expensive.

Exactly, if you can only spend $30 on a laser you are not serious about owning a quality laser...

Indeed. But for your first laser ebay is fine. Just make sure to get red goggles, because with any luck you will get ~50mW green.

Well I think I have to disagree a bit. The host is the same like my 400mW one that is doing 500+. The host quality is 1A. Much better than all the other cheap lasers you generally see on Ebay.
It´s used for many high powered lasers like greenies or the 1W 445nm
So I don´t thing they are putting one of the cheapest plastic modules into such a host but a decent brass module. So I would prefer this one over all the cheap Ebay pens.
