Bite; my 4 watt 532nm is not visible in daylight outside, only dimly inside during the day.

On second thought, may want to cover some windows, dim the lights, and add some particulate or dense vapor into the air aswell. Unless you have a US gov't TLA's budget, you will not get a laser to meet this requirement.

Yea when I smoke in the room, the beam visibility significantly increases. How often should I charge my battery for a 100mw or 200mw I am not sure. :D I read that it determined by the beams visibility. When it fades you charge it right?

Im not sure on that one. I just have a habit op pulling my batteries every once in a while and checking the voltage to determine when to charge them. On my pen build, when I notice a power decrease I swap batteries as it absolutely eats ni-mh aaa's when I run it.

I'd just have to say if you notice a major loss of power after running for a while, probably can't hurt too badly to swap batteries or charge it if it bugs you.

Yea fair eough. I am just afraid of harming them by charging constantly but if that doesnt have any bad effects on battery then no problem.

That 310mW 473nm looks great. I can't wait for my 07E to be completed. Gonna try 5A then 5.5 and go nuts with it.

I wouldn't charge them constantly as it might not be the best for them. I may just be a little OCD about fully discharging my cells before recharging though :tinfoil:

And yes, that much dpss 473 is amazing. Add a little smoke and it is simply breath taking.

Alaskan, has your laser got a large beam diameter? By rights 4W should indeed be somewhat visible during daylight and should be without question visible indoors. I have a ~600mW with a 2.5-3mm beam and that is visible in a lit room. Do you have any images?

Mine has 5mm beam, fairly wide.

Day time photo, light coming in kitchen window. Outside you can't see any hint of a beam.

Ok, that explains why. A 3mm beam will appear brighter than a 5mm+ beam. Your beam will be similar to a <2W 3mm in equivalence.
