Today I stumbled across some really small green modules. Not super cheap, but not too bad if you really want a tiny green build. Maybe pocket mini green builds will start showing up... this module is 13mm long! Available from 10-150mW :)

Laser Diode Modules

I don't know if anyone has seen these before, but I thought they looked pretty good ;)

The module in my 1*aaa green is 18mm*9mm with the lens.
10mm*9mm lens removed (unscrews).
The 13mm S-GDL-532 Series appears to me to be lacking the final lens.

Maybe pocket mini green builds will start showing up...

Mine is what I consider pocket sized.

These look like CNI manufacture. Datasheet
As HaloBlu said they lack the final lens, so divergence is terrible (15mRad).

These modules are CNI manufactured.
They also do not have an IR filter.

They are used in the GLPs (CNI pen pointers).
CNI offers the complete modules with IR filter and collimating lens as well.

Ahh that makes sense then. I didn't notice the terrible divergence ;)

Yes these modules are definitely CNI. I didn't even realize they made +3 different types of green modules until last week. All the 150-200mW are +$300 though :(

showing my age here, Information Unlimited used to sell documentation on building some crazy stuff back in the 80's.

I remember ads with a robot holding a ray gun.

The stuff on that web page is available elsewhere at better prices.

Information unlimited still sells all the crazy stuff... some of it is pretty scary actually.

And agreed about cheaper prices elsewhere - still a great place to get some fun ideas though ;)
