Is this a valid green laser?

There is a interesting green laser for the value:
50mW 532nm Industrial TTL Green Laser Module/Heatsink Body Design/Visible Beam | eBay

Seems to be a 50 mW 532 nm green laser with driver at 35$ free shippings, from china.

There are the specs:

Wavelength : 532nm
Optical Power: 50mW
Operating Voltage: 5V
Beam Divergence: <1.2mrad
Transerve Mode TEM00
Operating temperature: 10 - 40 °C
Modulation: TTL 0-20kHz
Dimenion:fi25mmx45mm

What do you think about?

Thanks...

ive heard good things about techhood. search for them on here and see what people are saying about them.

Looks okay but if you're looking for modules I'd buy from Fasttech. Their 50mW 532nm Module puts out between 70mW and 100mW most of the time.

DX is touchy, id recommend getting the one from fasttech. many members have had great luck with that one and being over spec :)

I have 4 of those Fasttech modules so far and they tested at 80,92,92 and 106mw and they all have about 10%IR or less. MANY others will back me up on this. Have 3 more on the way. This is VERY much a bargain. Good luck finding better....

i bought fasttech 50 mW green laser.. i'll update the topic for my impression.

Thanks all for suggestions.

PS: can it be powered with one 18650 li-ion 3.7V cell, right? It should be have built-in driver

i'm returned :D

so... i have some trouble with this laser.
if i turn potentiometer , the laser intensity varies with a strange behaviour; sometimes the laser is bright, and then fades and looses power. If i turn potentiometer, the beam increase brightness but then some turns the light turns down immediately... so i have to turn back the potentiometer. is this normal?
also, moving the pcb or the laser diode sometimes modify the laser intensity...

i think this potentiometer has some issue;

finally, when the laser looses power, the IR light seems to be quite powerful (looking at it with phone cam) and the crystal bright red.

sorry for bad english

If you move the PCB and it gets stronger / weaker it is probably a bad solder connection from the PCB to diode pins. Could possibly be something else but I highly doubt it as you can't bend the PCB without snapping it. :)

DONT touch the pot!!!!! You will kill your module very quickly! They are manufactured and set at pretty much the limit to allow for the longest life. Touching the pot will kill your modules life, thats one thing the YT videos never show. They show you get more power but they dont show that 5 minutes later their module dies

i red the review ( http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/mini-review-50mw-green-module-fasttech-80522-9.html ) on this forum and yes... i learn touching the pot is a bad idea.
But is too late, i have played with that pot many times lol.

But the behaviour is stranger, because if i play with pot/pcb balance i could find a way to maintain stable the light output... but it is less powerful than the first run...

i noticed also the big resistor and all pcb become hot at touching after few seconds... is it normal?

soldered connections are stable, i verified them

PS: can the ir laser diode be replaced with another one? a cheap 300 mW 808 nm laser diode can be easily obtained on ebay...

ok i think the LD is damaged... i was not able to reach the full brightness as same as the first run...

so, if i replace the LD with another 808 nm, keeping the driver?
is it possible?

buy a replacement $5 module and get it in a week from FT OR buy a $4 808nm diode off fleabay and wait 3-6 weeks for it to arrive, plus not knowing if it will work or not. tough choice

EDIT: hope the sarcasm come through and points you to the correct answer
