I have 3 of 50mw Green laser modules extracted from Disco Laser Shows.

I noticed the other night that one of the Modules has 2 separate Beams in the output.

It was hard to notice at first as the separation of the 2 beams occurs very slowly. It's not noticeable until the beam is about 200-300 meters away. Looking down the beam I can see two separate, Fully Collimated beams.

I was wondering what causes this ?

Thanks for the Info.

I wasn't to worried about fixing it. I have 2 others that are fine. I was more curious as to what would cause it.

Probalby because the quality of the module
isn't very good.
Except if you have dropped it.
Where did you extracted these from ? (Link please)

It has not been dropped. At least not since I bought the Laser Light show. It was new.

They are Modules I have removed from Rave 50mw Green Twinkle Laser Light shows.

The Diode Module is well heatsinked. They must be reasonable quality as they are rated for Continuous operation. But maybe a Quality control problem installing the xtals.

It's only noticeable when the beam is about 300 Meters away. So one could call it a minor defect. Still cuts black electrical tape up close.
